About the Book
When the children learn that an old library is to be torn down, they start cleaning it up, hoping that it will qualify for landmark status. Who is trying to destroy their good work?Book Synopsis
The Aldens help restore an old library by cleaning up and clearing out old books. But while they work, they hear mysterious footsteps on the second floor. Then someone sneaks in and makes the library just as messy as before. Why would someone want the library to stay closed?About the Author
Gertrude Chandler Warner grew up in Putnam, Connecticut. She wrote The Boxcar Children because she had always dreamed about what it would be like to live in a caboose or a freight car--just as the Aldens do. When readers asked for more adventures, Warner wrote more books--a total of nineteen in all. After her death, other authors have continued to write stories about Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny Alden, and today The Boxcar Children(R) series has more than one hundred books.Additional product information and recommendations
