Ninth from the sun, Pluto is not a planet! That’s because if you added up the mass of all the other objects in Pluto’s orbit, Pluto’s mass would be only a tiny fraction of that total. In 2006, it was demoted to ''dwarf planet,'' but our fondness for Pluto, the yellow dog with black ears, is not diminished.
