Q: It says it has 1TB of storage, but when downloading games it only has 800 MB or something. Nothing near 1TB. Why?

A: A 1TB drive only has about 900MB of space after formating. Some of that 900MB is going to be taken up by the OS and pre installed software.

submitted byJaskirat - 1 year agoA: The Operating System (OS) uses part of the 1 Tb for its software. Same as has been stated. Still, 800 gb is almost 500 gb more than the original Xbos series after copnsidering the software space.

100% DO NOT BUY!! You cannot play games unless you buy their pass. The store will not let you buy and play a game. Only add features to a game you cannot even download. Most frustrating purchase ever. Save your money.

This was a great buy! This version of the Xbox S with the 1TB SSD has super fast loading up and almost just instant response like when you start up the system it is loaded up to the main page were you log in to your account in like 2-3 seconds. Microsoft has a great deal with the monthly game pass which gives you access to hundreds of games for $16 a month!

I would highly recommend an Xbox Series S as a budget purchase, even if you decide to spend $50 for this 1TB version (which is cheaper than buying a storage expansion card). It's also worth nothing that many games have versions that are designed specifically for the Series S, so download sizes for those games may be smaller. This allows your 1TB of storage to go a lot further than it might if you had a Series X. It's also a helpful detail if you are limited by ISP data caps, since this is an all-digital console and all games need to be downloaded. The console looks great and the reduced size is a benefit if you have limited space in your entertainment center or TV stand.

The Series S is a Budget Console but having this cost $50 more and you don't have to spend extra on more storage this is great, and the color is amazing!
