Q: reason my Afro/American natural gray hair turned a dull yellowish color after using Alikay naturals 17 essential oils and leave in lemongrass leave-in conditioner? I have been using both products since March 10, 2021.

A: Several factors can cause gray hair to turn yellow. One is from internal factors such as medications. Another is the environment, such as too much sun or overly chlorinated water or water that contains a high amount of iron. Please consult your doctor for reasons specific to you.
submitted byBeauty Advisor - 4 years agoA: Gray hair did not turn dull/yellowish from taking medication, too much sun nor chlorinated water or water that contain a high amount of iron - not on medication, wear hats when in sun, do not go swimming, nor have a high amount of iron in my body. I have regular doctor checkups & in good health - only factor is the chemicals used in mentioned hair products.

A: No, it does not make new hair or existing hair grow faster - if hair is gray, it will make your gray hair a dull, yellowish color and very brittle to the touch. I have been using since March 2021 with no improvement in hair growth - only change is my once beautiful beginning to gray hair is now dull, yellowish and brittle.

Q: Did they change how they implement the horse powder (the brown specs at the bottom) or is Target receiving fake shipments? The bottle I received the horse powder looked less like powder and more like tiny flakes of woodchips or something.

A: Hello, Target is not receiving fake shipments. The formula has not changed. What you may be seeing is that the horsetail powder is unsettled. this stuff is just the best. i got it after one of my friends started using it and i was pretty skeptical at first. for reference, i’ve been dyeing and bleaching my hair for almost a decade. my ends were brittle from damage and my hair was really thin from all the chemical treatment i put it through. i applied the oil twice a week before bed and slept with it in a shower cap to distribute the heat from my scalp throughout my hair and keep the oil from getting all over my sheets, then washed it out like i would otherwise in the morning. i will say this does not work immediately- you’re not going to see a change overnight, especially if you have a considerable amount of damage or hair loss. i’ve been using it consistently for about a month and a half and i am so impressed with the results. my hair is no longer brittle and falling out and it’s grown about an inch or two since i’ve started using this oil. i’ve had multiple of my friends and coworkers tell me my hair looks healthier than it did before as well. (i want to note that my hair loss was not genetic and was not a result of aging or pregnancy, so the oil might work different for people who are dealing with hair loss or damage for a different reason! however, if your hair has been through the ringer from chemicals, heat damage, and hair dye i highly recommend this!!)

For starters, I had very high hopes for this product. I discovered this product from watching a content creator on tiktok, then later did further research of my own. The ingredients appeared to be good, as well as the reviews. So, I went ahead and placed my order. Upon arrival of this product, I turned the item to the back to check the ingredients and realized rosemary oil was missing. This was a huge red flag for me because it was essentially the reason why I placed the order. However, being that the oil was already purchased, and the damage was already done I went ahead and used it. After two weeks of using this product my hair has been shedding like a dog. I promise this is not to deter anyone from buying, just sharing my experience. Use your own judgement. - To whom it may concern, Please update the ingredients on your website, everytime a company changes the formula, this avoids consumer confusion.

moisture/water has a hard time absorbing into my hair. This product makes my scalp itch, and my hair hard. I've learned it's best for me to buy my own natural oils and do my own concoction. oh, the owner of Alikay never wore her natural hair when doing interviews. that should tell us something.

I bought this oil because I thought it would help with my dry scalp. Not only did it make my scalp dryer, but it made my hair brittle. My scalp also started flaking more. I used it pretty consistently too. As did my husband. His locs also felt the same. He doesn’t have dry scalp, but developed it while using this product. I really wanted to love it but it just didn’t work for us. I thought it would work better, considering it’s one of the pricier hail oils.

I was sceptical but I tried this oil and it has worked for me. It smells wonderful and very easy to use. Hi seen growth about 3 weeks after I started using it and my hair is still continuing to grow and feels really soft and healthy. My main area was my hairline.. I am glad that I stumbled across this oil and have told others about it. It also has really great, healthy ingredients.
