As part of the setup process you'll also be prompted to set up a Child profile, which allows you to use the Amazon Parent dashboard to monitor and restrict content available in the Child's profile. Some apps do require you to be connected to the internet to use but most can be used offline once they are installed. You wont be able to connect to online media without an internet connection so make sure TV shows and movies are downloaded directly to the device. The Fire 7 Kids tablet has the option of adding a micro SD card to expand storage options so you can download a large amount of media to help keep the Kids entertained during those long flights! DO NOT BUY FROM TARGET! The two year warranty is a lie. If you buy it, buy it from Amazon. Target will not help with the warranty and if you buy it from Target, Amazon will not help with the warranty. I bought it because of the two year warranty and now we have no tablet.

I despise these things. Not user friendly, certainly not kid friendly. You can download videos to watch when there isn't wifi, but they expire and then even after deleting all the downloads, it still gives a pop up "exceeded number of downloads." So the tablet is useless.

There is a download limit of 25 Prime Video titles on an Amazon account including all the devices registered to the account. Please check, if you maybe downloaded something on other devices/Prime Video apps. If so, remove some of it, in order to be able to download new content again. Purchased for three of my toddlers for Christmas and I’m not fully sold on the tablet. The tablet is not user friendly and it took way too long to setup. My kids can’t seem to play the applications on their own and always need help. I like that it came with a protective case and I could set it up according to age, however, my toddlers don’t like playing it and run off with their siblings iPads instead. I love the concept, but I think it fell short in too many ways.

Horribly slow. The battery life is pretty good but it’s almost impossible to download any movies or anything on this. It just stays completely frozen on the Disney+ app despite being connected to our home WiFi. I wanna rip my hair out.

Hello Ash. I am terribly sorry for the trouble you are having with your tablet. While this is our entry level model, it should still not be freezing on you like this. One thing you can do to troubleshoot to possibly free up some processing power for what you are currently using is you can doublecheck to make sure you do not have too many apps running in the background. If you do not ever close apps out, they will stay open in a dormant or low power state or even depending on the app may be using up your processor. You can check this by tapping the Multitask button/icon in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. This brings up a window with all running apps. You swipe each one up to close them out or you can swipe all the way over and tap Close All to close them all simultaneously. If this does not solve your issue, then I would recommend contacting Amazon Customer Support to explore options or troubleshoot further at 888.280.4331. This device also comes with a 2 year worry free guarantee so hopefully this helps improve your experience some. One thing I would recommend in the event that your device is running slow or draining the battery too quickly is to make sure it is not running too many apps in the background simultaneously. You can check this by tapping the multitask icon on the lower right of the screen. This will bring up a window of everything that is running on your tablet. You swipe each app up to close out of it or swipe all the way to the right and close all of them at the same time at the end. This should help with both problems you just listed in your feedback. Skip this and buy a regular kindle tablet. The memory on this kindle is awful, if your kiddo downloads apps like Netflix or YouTube then it takes up a ton of memory and they can only download a few games, and have to delete games to download new ones as the “out of memory” message pops up.

Loved this tablet for my kiddo! He learned so much from it as it has lots of fun learning games and music. It’s usually difficult to get him to pay attention as he has autism but I feel that this tablet helped him so so much! Sadly he broke it accidentally but would definitely purchase again later.

Glitches Repeatedly.

Glitches after 2 weeks. Middle of play or watching a show the screen goes black, then to the keyboard setup page, then on its own to an add. I clear out, open an app and the same thing happens. Hard reset did nothing to fix this.

Try the following: 1. Force close the app. 2. Restart your Fire tablet. 3. Clear the app cache and data. 4. Uninstall and reinstall the app. Note: Pre-installed apps can't be uninstalled. To clear app cache and data on your Fire Tablet to resolve intermittent app performance issues, follow these steps: 1. Open the Settings menu. 2. Select Apps & Notifications. 3. Select Manage All Applications or See all... apps and choose the app you are having trouble with. 4. Select Storage, tap to Clear Data or Clear Storage, then Clear Cache. If you’re still experiencing issues with an app, contact the app's developer. To find the developer info, go to the Amazon Appstore and click on Developer Info in the App detail page. You can also pay a fee to remove ads from the tablet as well. If you are still having functionality issues you can call Amazon customer service, available 24/7 for assistance on the device.
