There are some really good values in this book to teach children. However, no baby comes out of the womb racist/antiracist and I don’t think babies need to be fighting the injustices of the world. This would be better to teach an older child. And I really don’t like that the word “antiracist” is even in the book, in the same way I wouldn’t want “hate” on every page of a baby book. “Accepting baby” or something else would be so much better for a child.

Funny how all the 1 star reviews are not verified purchases and say how kids learn to be racist, which is literally what this book teaches. This book shows that kids learn from their environments and if they read this in school, then it’s probably a good thing because they might not be learning antiracism at home.

I have read this book several times and it truly makes no sense. It tries so hard to be edgy, but it fails big time. Racism comes in many colors and it is not addressed in this book . I don't like this.

I loved this book. If definitely needs to be read to children between 3-6 yrs old because they would better grasp the concept. I love that the book rhymes and has a good message. It could have some adjustments like the definition of racism but I will definitely have this book in my classroom. If anyone has a problem with this book, I think they 1. Expect this book to teacher their child about racism when it’s meant to be a conversation starter or 2. Have some deep unresolved issue to face. Either way would be recommending and gifting this book to a friend’s child.
