my son hates sunscreen that is in a squeeze container and I'm not into spray ones (as I really don't want to breath in sunscreen) so this works great. I wish there was more or that it was bigger - but the product works well.
Yes, it is thick and a bit more difficult to apply. Because it is mineral based, it is not absorbed into the skin, like a lotion is. I do not want my child's skin exposed to phthalates, nano-particles, PABA, and parabens or the constant requirement that her skin ABSORB sunscreen. Mineral-based sunscreens sit on the skin AND last a lot longer with water exposure and time, hence why they are thick and more difficult to apply. Yeah, an inconvenience but at my expense not at the expense of my daughter's skin.
The ingredients are great! It hasn't broke me out. BUT!! It is so hard to put on your skin. Its so thick but I just warm up my hands and pat it in. Maybe I bought a bad batch, but it is also so gritty! It really feels like I am putting a sugar scrub on. And it leaves a gritty residue on your skin. I would repurchase if the product is more smoother.
Possibly the worst product I have ever purchased. I bought this for the first time for a recent day of skiing. I liked that it has more natural ingredients and it is smaller than the Neutrogena stick I usually get. I was the only one in my family who did not use it because I have my own sunscreen I need to use for my sensitive face. Consequently, I was the ONLY one who did not get absolutely fried. My 8 year old burned so bad on his face he has blisters. BLISTERS! ON HIS FACE! We are all very fair skinned, so I'm super-diligent about sunscreen, but we are also very active outdoors people living in sunny Phoenix AZ, and my kids have NEVER had a sunburn this bad. I am beyond disappointed with this product and will never purchase anything from this brand again.
