Q: Does this machine have an internal heater to make its own steam, and if using the handheld "6 inch tough stain tool" (for stairs and furniture) do you get the benefit of steam also?

A: Hi Kelly. We always recommend consulting your rug or carpet manufacturer prior to using a deep cleaner with spinning brushes and in this case, steam. This machine is designed for wall-to-wall carpet cleaning.

I purchased this cleaner specifically for the steam feature and due to the high number of 5-Star reviews but I was very disappointed. The steam was very inconsistent sputtering and inconsistent across the nozzle length. Only the right side was producing any appreciable steam but it was sputtering. Left had almost none at all. (See photos). I went to bissell.com/support looking for troubling shooting guidance. No surprise that it wasn't really addressed. The videos are garbage. Hey Bissel, spend some time with a rep talking to the customer on camera. The 3 minute infomercial you have is weak. I ensured that I read the instructions carefully so make sure that I was doing everything correctly - I was. That said, I want to prove my suspicions. I took out my FLIR thermal camera and confirmed what I was seeing. I will be returning this.

Purchased this Revolution Hydrosteam from that rainforest jungle river website, only to have it not function correctly and needing to return it. Way too much water left behind and too little in the waste tank; it took an entire day with fans blowing to dry. Looking for a replacement, I ventured out to the Bissel website, where I learned I could get far more value for the same amount of money. This bundle is great, and the machine actually works as intended! Lots of extra useful pieces included and power! So much water removed it only took about 30-45 minutes to be walkable again. As previous Bissell steam owners (pets are like children- adorable, lovable and messy additions), we knew Bissell would perform. We didn't realize it would outperform our already high expectations. Only used twice in two weeks, so it would be dishonest to rate 5 stars at this time. #sweepstakes

Oh my gosh on my top 10 purchases of a lifetime. For real. I had no idea how good this really would be. It took out stains I had for years tried every way possible to remove. Hard to believe how the dirt came out that you didn't know uou had. I'm so so happy I bought this.

I really wish I had taken before and after pictures of our carpet. It looks a completely different color now (which also grosses me out). It’s so much brighter. We have two small kids, and we have a lot of traffic through our home, so I’m sure you can imagine. Spot cleaning when needed just wasn’t enough, and I was prepared to have to get new carpeting altogether, but I wanted to try this cleaner first. I’m sooooo glad I did. It’s on the pricier side but it still saved us a good amount of money. My ONLY complaint is the tanks could be bigger I had to refill and empty quite a few times just doing my living room. But still worth it to me.

After first use, it seems to have cleaned the carpet well and removed most stains with just the upright option. Only giving four stars due to how fast you go through clean water compared to a rug doctor style one; needing to refill this three time to get through one 10x13 ish room. Similarly, the waste water fills up very fast and requires emptying before you even get through the fresh water. This did seem to be partially due to foam taking up 3 inches of the reservoir and triggering the machine to stop sucking until emptied. This makes for a long process of emptying or filling approximately 10 times per room. I did like the cleaning tray that came with this bundle as it easily cleans the brushes and waste water tubes before storing. All in all, worth it and would recommend to buy, but hope that the design can be adjusted to allow for larger reservoirs. One other challenge, was the learning curve with getting the steam to heat, and the brushes running continuously when sitting upright and on. (The machine is more techy, so I needed to watch a few videos to trouble shoot initially, but now I understand its quirks moving forward) I would probably buy it again or recommend it to others who asked. #sweepstakes

I am truly amazed at how good this machine worked. There were some very old and deeply set stains in my carpet that would go away momentarily with my older model but always seemed to reappear, and it completely removed them without a trace. I will recommend this new machine to everyone I know.

8 year stains were Removed. Not that heavy to push:pull. I am 81…did have problems with how to use the three cleaning modes. Even if I did not use correctly- my carpets after cleaning look So Much Better. You could smell "clean". So glad I purchased machine.
Just buy it. It's worth every penny.

Our carpets came out brighter and softer. The cleaned carpet also dried quickly. My husband liked that the Bissell was easier to fill with the cleaning solution, easier to maneuver and easier to clean the machine. We also own another very high priced carpet cleaner. We dreaded carrying our Rug D***** upstairs. No problem with the Bissell. Next up is cleaning the stairs.

Cleans pretty doggone good. Have used several name brand carpet cleaners over the years and this one cleans as well, if not better, than any of them. Steam just seems to clean better than just water and cleaning solution whether it's heated or not.

I have been using carpet cleaner machines at home for over 30 years and this is carpet cleaner is by far the worst machine I have ever used. I put 128 oz of water/cleaner in the machine, and it only was able to retrieve 6 oz. This means 122 oz of dirty water soaked into my carpet and the machine didn't pick it up. I got my old carpet cleaner out and it picked up another 80 oz of dirty water, which I thought was bad until I received the Bissell. This machine has a poor design with almost no suction, I will be trying something else.
