Q: Does this machine have an internal heater to make its own steam, and if using the handheld "6 inch tough stain tool" (for stairs and furniture) do you get the benefit of steam also?

A: Hi John. No, the steam feature does not apply to the hose, just the floor.

Q: How hot does the steam get on each setting? Looking for degrees in Fahrenheit/Celsius.

A: Hi Crystal. When using the steam setting it is between 95-100°C or 203-212°F. The fluid boils at 100°C/212°F and may cool a bit on the way out.

Q: I have a textured berber carpet. Will it get into the design and clean well and suction well? I'm thinking the berber will be a longer dry but I want to be able to remove all the cleaning solution.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was going to hire a professional carpet cleaning company, but decided to buy the steam cleaner instead so that I could continue using it over and over. It worked wonders on my carpet and tough pet stains. I love the ease of the functions, especially the brush and machine cleaning step! Very easy to use. It is a bit heavy, especially using on stairs, but it works so well that this wasn't a negative for me. I am so glad I took the chance and purchased this.

My dog peed on the floor so I was excited to use my carpet cleaner for the 2nd time ever only for the belt connected to the rollers to snap out only ten minutes of use now I'm afraid to turn it on because it sounds like it's going to blow up…

DO NOT BUY The absolute WORST experience of my life with any carpet machine. It wasn't until I cleaned my entire room that I relaxed it was REDISTRIBUTING the contents of the dirty water container back into the carpet. So what was once a generalized area of carpet that needed to be cleaned, it pulled it through out the rest of the rug. Bought it at 11am, returned by 8pm.

I was excited to try this out. I've used the Rug Doctor for many years but wanted something easier to maneuver. This carpet cleaner didn't really pick up the dirt and grime in the carpets like I had hoped. The cleaning solution also didn't penetrate the carpet very well so the brushes were just spinning around on the surface. The steam feature is just okay, I didn't feel like it was getting hot enough to really do anything (I felt the carpet with my hand right after moving the machine over it). The furniture hose attachment was decent and picked up the dirt in my carpeted stairs and had good suction. I did also like the cleaning feature for the machine when finished using it. I would consider returning this machine if it wasn't such a hassle to do so.

We had to return this because on the first use it started making a horrible noise and electrical smelling smoke started coming from the unit (not the base where it was steaming, to be clear). I’m glad other people had good experiences with/it, but we can’t rebuy for risk of getting another defective one or it breaking later down the road.
Sure if you want it to break in 8 months...

I wanted to love it. And I DID, until it broke in 8 months. First, just the third time I used it, it started making a truly unbearable screeching noise. I have 3 kids and 3 dogs so I’m used to loud but this left my ears ringing. The seal on the bottom dirty tank wasn’t tight enough so I DIYed a solution to add more pressure to it. It was fine for a few more uses. Now I just tried to use it this morning and the brush roller wasn’t spinning. It started producing a burning smell so now it’s in a box waiting for bissell to send me a label to hopefully get it fixed. Honestly NOT worth the money, even if they fix it. For a $400 machine, one of the most expensive on the market, I expected a lot better.

I am not sure if it is my bad luck or what, I have two almost new machine that I purchased directly from Bissell and both stopped working after 4-5 time use on two average carpets.
I have two dogs and my carpet needs to be cleaned. I have no idea what I have to do with these machines. The repairshop is in another city and I am out of luck.
I can hardly wait to use again

I used my Revolution Hydrosteam carpet cleaner for the first time yesterday and was very impressed with how well it cleaned.
My previous Bissell, purchased about 40 years ago, was quite cumbersome although I liked the fact that I could attach a hose directly to the hot water tap. Then, tap designs changed and I had to replace it. I can only hope the new Bissell lasts as long but I won't be here to find out . . . I'll leave to someone in my will.
The only thing I can see being a nuisance with this new machine is that the water capacity is very low both for the cleaning solution and for the dirty water tank. I had to dump the dirty water after only 2 quarts had accumulated. It was extremely sudsy too which makes me wonder if I couldn't get away with less concentrate.

Left my carpet sopping wet. I couldn't get it to suck up the dirty cleanser from carpet. I tried different settings & attachments to no avail. It was still too wet. Tried to use the hose with stairs attachment & it didn't spray the cleanser, but had suction. Ended up using that to suck up excess liquid from my rug and still had to lay towels down because it was so wet. Very disappointed Bissell is usually better than this. Might try another machine

We debated whether or not to spend the extra money on this model and we are SO GLAD that we did! The steam option is awesome! So glad I do not have to take my washable rugs outside anymore (we don’t put them in the washing machine). Totally worth the investment!

I bought this in September and have only used it three times. Worked great at first and now it will no longer spray fluid on the maxsteam setting. The only setting I actually care to use.

I bought this product thinking the attachments would work for stairs or upholstery but they don't. I would give the attachments a zero star they are nit even 15% as good as a standard shop vac. However the upright steam cleaner is fantastic and works great. I would give that a 5 star review. However the package is not what they advertise so an average of 3 stars is wat you get.

It puts too much water onto the ground and only picks up about 20% of it. The carpets were soaked. The cheaper model (preheat 2x I think) is cheaper and works WAY better.

It's an effective cleaner on my old nylon carpets with normal shoe-dirt; better than my old cleaner, but still leaves some uneven cleaning marks. The tanks are pretty small so you spend a fair amount of time dumping and refilling. It intermittently makes a squealing noise as well as the normal motor/vacuum noises, which I asked Support about and all they said was to check for dirt in the debris filter etc (this happened on the very first use, and kept happening even after an hour of carpet cleaning and following their FAQs on cleaning the machine). I decided to keep it and make sure to use hearng protection (which I should, anyway) but it worries me about about the durability I can expect ... so I recommend it, but with caveats
