Super cute. I used these for Easter baskets but they ‘bleed’ onto your hands and easily stain clothes. They’re a very soft crayon.

Great crayons! Super easy for littles to hold. Seems comfortable in their tiny hands. They stay intact and don’t break like regularly shaped crayons. Hasn’t stained their clothes or the floor.

I don’t know who came up with these but they obviously weren’t tested by actual babies (for reference package says 12 months + mine is 13 months) but most children will be coloring at a table, which means crayons will be dropped these didn’t last 2 drops and broke into multiple pieces, the red one split right open as well as had several pieces chip off and the blue had several pieces chip off. Complete waste of money, wish I could get my money back!!!

If your toddler doesn't throw things, then these might be wonderful for you. My 1.5 year old, however, thinks that these are balls which can be thrown. If you even drop them from the tabletop, they shatter/splinter and make a total mess. Save yourself some time and money and just buy the jumbo crayons.
1 reply from Crayola team - 9 months ago
Oh man! We're so sorry your Palm Grasp Crayons have broken easily. This shouldn't be happening to your toddler's crayons, and we'd like to help make this right. So our team can learn more, please contact us at 1-800-CRAYOLA. Looking forward to speaking with you soon.

Thanks for sharing your feedback with us. I'm sorry to hear these Palm Grasp Crayons didn't work well for your little artist. As you mentioned, trying some of our large or jumbo crayons may work better for their masterpieces. This way they can practice their grip with what works best for them! Hope this help him get back into creating. - Kerine, Colorful Care Team

The shape is like a ball so my son just threw it the first time he picked it up and the one cracked….

Uh-oh! Thank you for sharing this helpful feedback with us, Jennifer. For the future, we'd suggest checking out our Jumbo or Large Crayons for your little one's creations. This way, they can get back to making masterpieces and save the throwing for the baseball field! Wishing you all the best for bright & colorful days ahead. -Taylor, Colorful Care Team

18 month old didn't care for them

2 out of 5 stars
Gabby - 1 year ago, Verified purchaser
My 18 month old only showed interest in them for about 2 minutes, drew a few scribbles and then tossed one a foot or two away. A large chunk of it broke off into tiny pieces. From the way it comes off in layers, I assume they make these by starting with a small egg-shaped mold and gradually increasing them in size. I saw reviews stating that the center was hollow. I didn’t keep them long enough to find out. Took them back to the store. I wanted to love these. They have a solid weight to them and I thought the shape would be better for my younger one, who has been using the large size crayons and markers my 3 yr old colors with. These might work for a younger one maybe 8+ months old that doesn’t have experience grasping any other types of markers or crayons... or can resist the urge to throw “ball shaped” objects. If these don’t work for you either, I would suggest the large size ultra washable crayons instead.

Great idea but poorly executed, they are hallow and break/shatter with the slightest drop. Toddlers drop everything so there’s that.

At 18 months my son is using these crayons to scribble on large sheets of paper. They are easy for him the hold. I haven't had to test this yet, but the fact that they are washable is very appealing!
