Doesn’t work with a wired connection, only works with Bluetooth. It was under full warranty, but they sent me a used machine. What a rip off. The used machine won’t work wired, will only work when using Bluetooth. I wish I hadn’t bought this brand, it sucks.

I own a previous model, and decided to upgrade to the Explore 3 because on paper its faster. Sadly, it didn't take long to realize that it really isn't. It may cut faster, which is a plus if you are doing something really big, but the "pre-cut" cycle that plays out before you can do anything is agonizingly long, especially if you have multiple projects to do. Now, it has to measure out your material before you can even hit start. This process can take upwards of 18 seconds. This, of course, is only applicable if you can get the device to connect. I bought this partially because of its Bluetooth connectivity. Unfortunately, connecting is hit or miss. Sometimes I have to power cycle it 3 times before it will connect. Job spans more than one sheet? Guess what? You get to reconnect again. Every single time. All these seconds add up. Small print jobs now actually take LONGER to cut than on my original Explore, which I was going to retire. Where this excels is with large projects using the Smart Vinyl. The roll holder accessory makes this way easier, but it has issues of its own. Its a good idea, but their implementation sucks. Using smart vinyl from a roll for smaller projects can be extremely wasteful, as the no-cut area is much larger. The smart vinyl has the added benefit of actually being to cut a 12" wide piece, as the rolls are 13". On a final note, this thing is excessively noisy. It beeps EVERY time the head raises off the material. If you are doing a large, but very detailed piece, it will beep hundreds of times. ANNOYING!!! Don't know who thought this was a good idea. Final Ratings: Big projects up to 12" wide - 9/10 Small individual pieces - 3/10 Connectivity - 2/10 *This slow process can be VERY frustrating If this is your first Cricut, you might like it. If you are a veteran, you really might not.

Not to happy that my free month started before i recieved the product. I figured it would come with a card with a code to enter or somthing along those lines. Just here to warn anyone purchasing the bundle, you will not be getting a full free month. They will start it upon you purchasing the product. My subscription has been going for about 7 days and i still do not have the machine.

Slow cuts and no freedom to design

The machine is nice and quiet but I would not have upgraded it for my Explore 2 at all. The Explore is the best workhorse for a growing and busy business. The explore 3 is useful if you are cutting one thing and using one material at a time. Not 100 sheet of the same material and image on repeat. Pros: It is quiet There seem to be many more options for beginners to advanced materials and users Cons: You can't "trick" the machine to think you are cutting on another mat size. I always have it set on a 12x24 mat so that I can arrange my cuts to use as much of the material as possible without waste. This is no longer an option. The machine measures the mat first and it will tell you that the mat size is wrong even if all the cutting area is within the 12x12 grid. This is incredibly frustrating and does not seem to really have a reason or be helpful. - Also you have to choose the material EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU CUT....when am cutting 100 pages of the same thing with the same material this add a ridiculous amount of time to my workday. Because don't forget you also have to wait for it to measure the mat EVERY SINGLE TIME. It doesn't measure then automatically start cutting. You have to wait for the measuring to start the cut. These reasons have me putting this back in the box and buy more Explore 2. It is a nice machine but can't keep up with a growing business. Adding extra time to an already busy has me looking for other options. As a business investment I can't recommend this machine. If you need a strong and faithful machine try and get an Explore 2 or Maker.

We apologize for your experience and appreciate your feedback. The added process of the machines having to measure the mat length is a big change between the generations of the machines. Please contact Member Care at if you require any support.

I bought this piece of junk on Saturday (4 days ago) and it failed to print the initial demo sticker. It printed one text project with smart iron on material, and its never worked again. At first it wouldnt finish a cut project and wasted yards of material trying ti make it work, now it wont measure materials and the whole thing freezes up. "What an investment", there is practically no documentation anywhere, for the price they could have at least provided details on what the normal operation even is. Now you gotta call during hours for help and support, what kind of Boeing Aviation engineers are working this product?
