Q: Gone 6 momths, plugged in & nothing, no lights, nothing. Less than 2 yrs. Any kind of reset? Used other outlet, nothing?

  • A: Nope. Same problem. Nothing works when plugging in. Would never buy again, an expensive piece of junk. Mine happened when it was only 13 months after purchase. If anyone figures anything out please pass along I still have buried in a box somewhere. Thanks.

Q: Gone for 6 months, now crosley 5-1 won't play. Have tried everything. Any reset on this product? Under 2 years old.

  • A: I've used mine intermittently, and have not had this problem. I'm sorry, I don't know of any reset mechanism. I suggest asking the manufacturer - a level head and patience might get you not only the answer to your question, but a new unit, as well.

I really loved it, in the time that it actually worked! The record player just wouldn't turn after very few uses. Took it to my brother, he opened it up and soldered some bad connections in the unit. Worked again for a few months... then stopped AGAIN. Took it to my brother... again. He returned it working, I asked how it got it to work. He said there was nothing more he could do inside, so he smacked it one and poof it worked. Well obviously after another few months, it stopped again. The sound quality was fine, it looked beautiful, but the amount of time it actually functioned wasn't worth the time or the money. I'm so turned off after this Crosley product that my new one is going to be any other brand but this one.

Enjoying our Crosely Rochester system.

Love this updated version of the Rochester. We had the prior version and it did not have the Bluetooth or the auto stop on the record player. We burned out the motor on the record player by accidentally leaving it on and now that can't happen if you have the auto stop button in the "on" position. Radio tunes well, records sound great (old school) and the CD player on ours works just fine. We have never tried the cassette player and probably never will. We bought it mainly for the record player because we like the nostalgia of listening to our old record collection. The retro look is awesome and it sounds fine, when we want hi-fi we listen to our Bose speaker.

We got this for a couples' wedding gift and we found it to be a great price for this type of appliance. I love that the record players are being revived. The item arrived in one piece without any damaged and shipped within a reasonable time. The couple has not had any complaints about it.

Clearly a power cord issue with both units I purchased, neither worked so I gave up on this. Independent of that, the unit seems incredibly flimsy and poorly put together - knobs difficult to turn, cheap looking exterior...this thing just isn't good.

Defective Out of The Box

I can only give this one star because the unit did not work. I was not expecting a lot but out of four primary functions only one, the AM/FM radio worked properly. The cassette player was completely inoperative. The CD player would not play any CD we tried and the only ones we tried were factory new CD's and not anything that was done with a burner. The turntable played at the wrong speed so the sound was slightly slurred. With all of those problems how can you return it for anything other than a refund. I mean even if you get one that works today how long is it going to work?
