Dove Beauty Sensitive Skin Unscented Beauty Bar Soap - 8pk - 3.75oz each

I’ve been using Dove for Sensitive Skin for decades with no problems. I recently bought a new package of six bars and began using one last weekend. To my dismay, after a couple of days I began to experience itching on various parts of my body. After reading the recent reviews, most of which are negative and mention that something has changed, I suspect my problem could be connected to the new bar of soap. I’m very disappointed, as I now have to search for a different brand to use and will have to find somewhere to donate the 5 new bars I still have. One of the customer service comments mentioned that the formula hasn’t changed since 2016, but clearly something has been different recently.

It used to be fragrance free, not anymore. I buy in bulk, so it has taken quite some time to discover the problem. I NEED a straight answer from the manufacturer. What changed and when did it change? And I HAVE to find a replacement NOW!

I've used Dove sensitive skin bar for years and have loved it. Bought a new package today and its smells like chemicals. Absolutely awful!! It's very strong and not good at all. Very disappointed in this change. PLEASE bring back the old formula! Will be returning this package and looking for a new soap. So sad.

Why was it necessary to change the fragrance-free former Dove Sensitive Skin Beauty Barr to one with an awful scent, i.e. Dove Sensitive? Forget about so-called harmful ingredients, the smell is most important to me. I can't stand the scent and must now remove the items from the bathrooms. I removed two bars from the six-pack and felt I could not return the pack to the grocery store. I am donating the bars to a homeless shelter in my area, which of course means no repeat sales. After 25 years of use, I am no longer buying Dove products.

I am literally standing here smelling an old and new bar. I smell no difference. To anyone who’s never used this product and has sensitive skin, this product is the best on the market. I’ve used this product for 20 plus years and it’s fantastic! I use it on my face and body. My skin loves it. It smells like in scented soap, NOT mildew. Thank you Dove for a great product!

I use the sensitive body wash liquid and love it. In an effort to reduce plastic decided to try the bar soap. Smelled so gross like wet cardboard.

I was so sad when they stopped making Irritation Care body's wash, fragrance was perfect and absolutely zero Irritation and no drying. So, I tried sensitive skin body wash but find it irritating and stronglyscented, then tried the bar sensitive skin and the smell is gross, nothing like the body wash.

My whole family has been using the sensitive soap for many years. It has been so nice to have one soap that works for everyone. Whatever changed in the last couple of months to the scent is very disappointing and my family won’t use it anymore. I agree with other reviews that it has a chemical scent. Unfortunately I have a huge pack from Sam’s to try to use up myself even though I also hate the smell, and I’m not looking forward to the trial and error of finding a good replacement.

My family have been using Dove Sensitive bars for many years as 3 of 4 of us have eczema and this particular bar is recommended by our dermatologists. Unfortunately, a patch test just revealed an allergy to Cocamidopropyl betaine in our family and as a common allergen I was surprised and disappointed to find this ingredient in the Dove Sensitive bar. I am so sad to have to discontinue use for our entire family.

To be clear, I would give the original Dove Sensitive Soap 5 stars if I could. I am based in Ireland, and we have not been able to get Dove Sensitive/Hypoallergenic here for about 8 months. It is so very disappointing. I have always had to stockpile it because even when we could buy it, it was frequently short on stock/sold out (that should tell you it's in demand!). It's the only soap we can tolerate, our family of 5 has used it for many years, believe me we have tried many different alternatives. I have 2 bars left that my daughter brought home from a holiday in Germany earlier this summer. Even though there is no fragrance added to the product it, the ingredients themselves that are used in it result in a very pleasant mild clean smelling odour. It was a very well made product and reliable, cardboard box also, well done Unilever on this. This original Sensitive product could be used for whole body hygiene on adults and infants without drying out or irritating the skin: that's a product Unilever should have been championing!!!! I cannot understand for the life of me why a company like Unilever could not have done better product testing on the newer US based substitute. Because let's not kid ourselves, based on the reviews below here, the product has clearly been changed and it seems there have been some attempts to gaslight it's decades long loyal consumers, which is a huge turn-off but unsurprising for a corporate behemoth. So Unilever, when are you going to listen to your customers in USA and Europe and return the original recipe Sensitive bar product to the shelves? You have a sizeable cohort of loyal customers who continue to buy products like these because of personal/physical/sensory requirements or environmental concerns in many cases, and I for one would have been happy to pay a little more for a CULT product like this rather than have it withdrawn from market entirely or have unsuitable ingredients substituted into it. I understand that raw materials have increased in price, but I also see the 'shrink-flation' tactics used to reduce product quality and size while still increasing the price. It's shameful, and we are not stupid! Also, on the strongly fragranced products obsession which is being driven by marketing - inventing unnecessary products with extremely strong scents and telling people they need them, it's the very definition of unethical corporate behaviour, bad for the end users and bad for the planet, and it stinks! I bought some of the Dove Beauty Bar in the Original (i.e. fragranced) formula just to see if we could tolerate it. It came in a 4 pack and I put one in the bathroom and the other three in the are I store spare toiletries in our wardrobe. The scent is so strong that now it's all I can smell when I open my wardrobe and bathroom (long after I removed them!), like this cannot be good for health, and I certainly could not bear it on my face, so I have donated the unopened bars to charity and had to dump the one we skin tested. Did no-one teach the fragrance chemists and product team in Unilever that 'a scent should be discovered, never announced!'

I purchased the Dove sensitive skin soap bars. They smell rancid. I washed with it thinking the top layer would wash off and then the soap would be okay. Not at all, the soap smell was making me gag. I still have 14 bars, I would return to be replaced with a fragrance bar.

This is the best bar soap for those who have sensitive skin. In fact, I have been using it for over 20 years for our family since we have such sensitive skin. Plus, the smell is great for my over sensitive nose.

This Dove soap has been my go-to for my shower soap for years. It is perfect for sensitive skin and I love the smell as well. It makes my skin feel clean and soft at the same time.

I recently bought the DOVE Sensitive Skin Bar, as I have for YEARS, and it has been a good fit for my delicate skin. While it lives up to its promise of being gentle and non-irritating, I was really disappointed by the smell. It has a scent that is quite unpleasant, nauseating and lingers on the skin after use. For a product marketed towards those with sensitive skin, I expected a more neutral or mild fragrance. If scent is important to you, you might want to consider other options. Unfortunately, despite its benefits for sensitive skin, the smell is a deal-breaker for me.

I usually use the liquid body was but the bars are just as reliable.

Started using this sensitive soap years ago on the advice of a dermatologist. This last batch that i bought a week ago is different. It has an awful odor almost like motor oil. It is just not the same and I had to discontinue using it.

Smells absolutely horrific! They did something very wrong with this current formulation. I have a pack from a couple of years ago and it smells completely different; very neutral and almost like a light version of the original. This new stuff smells awful! They need to revert to the previous formulation. Maybe after enough negative reviews and declining sales they will.

My family loves dove soap

I’ve been buying Dove Sensitive Skin bar soap for years and just recently bought a new 12 pack. It used to have little to no smell, never now it smells horrible! It is impossible to use and has been making my skin dry and breakout. The whole pack of Dove also has a ring around the soap and as you use it, the ring turns brown. The product has also gotten small and the Dove imprint on both sides of the soap is a lot deeper than it was before.

I am so disappointed. I have been using dove sensitive bar soap my entire life- 27 years. It's the only thing my eczema abd sensitive skin tolerates. I use it on my entire body and face and have always loved it. I don't know what happened but on the last handful of months the sensitive skin beauty bar has changed drastically. I have noticed it is much smaller, doesn't lather near as much- making it not last near as long, and smells very strongly- almost as if it has gone bad. At first I thought I might have bought from a bad batch but after months of this happening I'm not so sure that's the case anymore. I worry what will happen if they did change the formula. My skin won't take to anything else and the smell of the soap is now very hard to handle. Please change back to the old version Dove...
