Q: I opened the jar and it looked dry like beeswax and it had a crack in it. Is it suppose to melt to a butter consistency after applying or is it suppose to look like a balm? There wasn't a seal either.

A: Correct, once you warm some of the balm up between your fingers before application it will be buttery smooth and highly moisturizing! That crack you see is very normal for Earth Mama balms, a natural result of the salves cooling in the jar after the pour. There is no other seal either; Organic Nipple Butter leaves the Earth Mama facility in a jar with a lid and in a box. Hope this helps ease your mind!

I absolutely love this stuff. I’ve used other brands and nothing compares to this one. It brings me instant relief. If I apply it after every nursing session, then the next session isn’t so painful. If I forget to apply, I definitely notice. It helps heal that fast. Highly recommend!!!

I love that I don’t have to clean this off before feeding (because who has time or the memory for that?) and feel good about the ingredients. Overall I do love this nipple butter, but I knocked off a star because the quality of this just isn’t consistent. I’ve gotten maybe 4-5 jars at this point and every single one has been a different texture with only one being the perfect smooth consistency. Most of them have been gritty or, like the current jar I have, is majority white balls of (I’m assuming) Shea butter and super oily otherwise. Having a bunch of little Shea butter balls on my nips isn't the best. It’s a bummer the texture isn’t more consistently smooth especially for how much it costs.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to share how amazing this nipple butter is! I had been dealing with some persistent and painful nipple blisters. I was dreading nursing, tried resting that breast and wearing silverette’s 24/7 with no improvement. After 2-3 applications of this nipple butter they were completely gone. Seriously magic! I will be using this after every feeding from now on!

This stuff was a life saver for me as a nursing mama, and I buy it for all of my expecting friends. It goes on nicely as a balm texture, so I feel like I can just rub it into my hands after as opposed to some of the other brands that feel goopy and need cleaned off of my fingers.

Great for pumping and before breastfeeding. I wish I knew how to use this when I was newly postpartum. I’ve found the best use is for pumping (on the pump flange!) & right before nursing to create a barrier between baby’s mouth to avoid rawness. Every. Single. Time! This is a thin formula, so it’s easy to clean. I also use this as makeup remover and on my lips. Smell is “earthy” which I enjoy. This doesn’t heal quickly - If you’re looking for something “healing” I would opt for the Lansinoh nipple cream. However, the Earth Mama nipple butter is AMAZING for everyday use. A little goes a lonnng way. My baby is 6 months old and I still have half of the container left.
