Died and No Response from Ember

Died after just a year. It happens so why the one star? Because Ember has ignored my emails. Its one thing for a product to fail but quite another when the manufacturer not only doesn't won't fix a problem but can't even be bothered to get back to customers.
Poor Design on Base/Charger

The mug is great. However, my mug is 18 months old and my 3rd charger is going out. They only seem to last 6 months. I’ve been very careful to not get it wet and careful when I set mug down. One of the base prongs keeps sinking. Poor design.

I’m embarrassed to say how many Ember mugs I own or have bought as gifts. These mugs are life-changing!
Disappointing

Unfortunately the pins on the charging coaster don’t last very long. My second one just broke and I refuse to pay for a 3rd. My daughter was so excited to give this to me as a gift - I’m sad she wasted her money.

I bought this like 2 months ago. The Charging pin got stuck and it stopped charging. Absolutely zero customer support present. They don't respond to any email or messages you send them. Visit their reddit threads and you will see how their mugs stop working in a few months and they don't respond to any email or phone. Stay far away.
Ember won’t honor their one year warranty

My ember mug stopped working after eight months after very light use. I tried using a second charger and it still would not charge my cup. I reached out to Ember support multiple times but they have yet to reply to me. I cannot in good conscience ever recommend a company that will not honor their one year warranty or even care to reply to their customers email.

It lasted a little over a year then the battery died. Tried to contact support. Got ghosted. The battery was lasting under an hour towards the end.
Engineering and Quality Control Lacking

Bought my first mug four years ago, it lasted two years before the enamel on the bottom started flaking off. (It was always hand washed and never saw a single metal utensil of any kind.) Got a replacement two years ago, and now it's doing the same thing... so the mugs seem to have a two-year expected life. That's better than the charging coasters, though... they only last about a year before the pins lose their spring and stop working entirely. (I've had four of those now.) Given the cost of these things, I think it's reasonable to expect a longer life.
Charging saucer only lasts like 4 months

Charging saucer only lasts like 4 months, I went through 2 of them now. I only hand washed the mug and did my best to thoroughly dry it before putting it on the charging saucer, but any amount of condensation by the metal nodules will eventually cause one of them to get stuck and stop making contact. Not worth the effort to try and dig it out, tough to take apart. Disappointed, I did use the mug a lot and when it worked, it worked pretty well.

I got this as a gift about a month ago, this cup is so amazing, it keeps my coffee hot down to the last drop. You can set your own temp and the actual cup gets hot.

My son gave this to me for Mother's Day 2 years ago. I was skeptical, thinking it was like the old warmers that used to sit on the desk. Once I learned about and mastered it, I am hopelessly dependent on my Ember

I acquired mine as a Xmas gift from my daughter and I cant be without it. My only complaint is that easily discolours on the inside and doesn't keep its original colour. Which in my case is a white cup. So I don't know if this is the same with the other colour choices??

Concept is great. And when it worked it was wonderful. Biggest issue is when it stops charging because of plate. No phone # to contact and customer service is the wurst

My husband bought me this mug for a gift and I LOVE IT! I used to zap my coffee several times every morning because I don’t like Luke warm coffee. This mug is awesome and keeps my coffee hot the entire time.

Cup is awesome however I am on my third charger. Poor design that has two spring loaded points that over time do not spring enough to charge.

Coaster Design Flaw and No Support

The mug works fine but the battery loses charge quickly and the CHARGING COASTERS BREAK. More specifically, the interior charging pin becomes recessed after a few months of use and it becomes IMPOSSIBLE TO CHARGE THE MUG. I have had two coaster break in the exact same way so it is a design flaw. Regardless of how good a review I would leave for the mug, the fact that it eventually can't be charged, makes the system completely useless. Perhaps worst of all, they have not responded to my online support requests and they have no phone support.
