Don't buy Epson printers unless you're ok with buying their expensive ink cartridges. Third-party ink can't be used. I bought an Epson xp4205 which uses 4 tiny cartridges that must be replaced if any 1 is expended or the printer won't work. My black cartridge is full and it won't print in black/grayscale. None of this is disclosed on their website. They post only positive reviews from those compensated. I'll NEVER BUY ANOTHER EPSON printer or any brand that will manipulate and control it after you've paid for it. They should be legally bound to fully disclose this info. I'll be exploring other options.

I'm satisfied with the quality and simplicity of this printer. Connection and set-up was nearly effortless. Although the supplied ink cartridges may not provide thousands of printed pages, the printer is still better than any Hp headaches of flashing lights and off-line statuses. If you have an opportunity to buy this model on sale, do so and add an additional ink package. You'll have a reasonably reliable product that's a pretty good bargain.

Don’t want to jinx it, but I’m very pleased with this printer after 3 weeks. It was easy enough to install, and has been reliable and much less of a headache than HP printers. It is true that much of the included ink is used up in set up, and I have already replaced the black ink, but I don’t think that means that future cartilages will be used up quickly (it’s just a set up side effect). I would have loved to purchase a greener and more cost effective Epson Ecotank (ink without cartridges), but those printers don’t do automated double-sided printing until you get to the $300 range, which is absolutely absurd. Automatic double-sided printing (i.e. without manually removing and reinserting paper) is a prerequisite for me, so I got this $70 printer instead. Had Epson’s $199 Ecotank had auto double-sided printing, they might’ve gotten me to spend another $120. I’m giving this four stars because I do wish it had an Ecotank feature, and I am tired of cartridges. Happy with the size and function otherwise!

Got this while on sale for my college dorm. Had it for almost a month now. Had a bit of trouble setting it up (connection issues, couldn't pair it with an Hp laptop but could pair fine on a chrome book). After getting a few papers printed, it's not the cleanest, as said in other reviews, it leaves ink marks on some pages, hit or miss and cant figure out why. Otherwise, for college printing it seems it does the job. Decent for the price. I would commit to a better printer if you're deciding for better print quality.

I have very limited space to accomodate a printer and only a moderate need to print, copy or scan. This printer is perfect for my needs. I am very happy with the price I paid. Quick and easy to set up. Can't comment on the logevity/durability as I have only had it for a short time.

I don't print that often because I keep almost all records digitally in pdf, Word or jpeg files. Like most recent printers, set up is little complicated due to proprietary set up software needed to be installed before connecting the printer to your computer. Once done word by word according to instruction, this printer worked perfectly. (Check YouTube video how to setup first and it's very helpful). This is very light and small so can be setup almost anywhere. Prints clearly and amazingly faster than I thought. Ink hasn't run out yet like described in many previous posts because I use it very infrequent. I think in my case, it will be months before I need to change the cartridges. I love this compact, good clean looking printer. It is just a perfect rectangle instead of some other printers with things sticking out here and there. Better than many printers I've purchased in the past which I've paid double or triple the price of this Epson. Very satisfied.

Printer has nice output, but even the full factory inks run out extremely quickly and it becomes a money pit to operate. I've decided to move on to an Epson ecotank printer, which yeah is more up front but its covered in about 2 sets of ink carts.

I was scared at first because of the mixed reviews but i bought it anyways and am super happy i did. Setup was easy they have it to where you can do it step by step on your phone. Once i got it adjusted boom everything worked nice and easy first 5-10 prints had alittle extra ink but after that perfect each time love this thing! Only took 20-25 min to setup its real easy
