I have used Epson printers for many many years in my home office. I have been satisfied with the Epson printers except for this WF 4830 mode. I had used this one for less than a year. First disappointment is that scanned files are no clear and sharp. The second disappointment is that the printer jammed waaaay too often, and now it doesn't recognize that there is paper in the cartridges. It no longer will print. So in less than a year, it is essentially useless.

These new Epson All-In-One Work Force are a hunk of junk. I went thru 2 printers so far and the wireless connection drops consistently. The printer will have to be turned on and off to bring back a connection. Or, wait 5-10 mins for the wireless connection to come back. This is a total headache, and completely aggravating. And really slows down your work production. Back 7-8 years ago Epson made the best printers. Now, I would recommend this crap to my worst enemy. I'm never buying another Epson product for as long as I live.

This is the biggest piece of junk I have owned. I bought his about a year ago, and had so many issues with the first unit I had that Epson replaced it. I have had nothing but issues with this unit. It loses connectivity regularly, I cannot clear the color print heads through the maintenance menu, it won't let me copy in black and white even though the black cartridge is over half full, the unit has a document feeder but does not work with the scanning function (one of the primary reasons I bought this unit), and those are just the major issues. It often tells me it cannot find my wireless connection even though I have a 1 GB connection and the unit is only 8 feet from the modem and router. When I have to scan a multi-page document I have to hand place each page on the glass and scan individually. It seems every time there is a Windows update the settings get all out of wack, and I have to spend time re-establishing connections, reinstalling scanning software from the disk. I will shortly be purchasing another brand unit and will be trashing this one.

Bought this a year ago to replace my crappy college $40 HP printer. It's been a mediocre experience. The printer itself hasn't jammed for me or done anything really weird I can't figure out, which is something. But the color prints are not good quality - I get pink stripes across all color printing, whether I'm printing pictures or text. Additionally, I can't print in only black and white. I've spent days trying to figure out if there's some setting to toggle. The print preview on my computer or phone will clearly say "black and white" but the document will still print in color regardless, which is super frustrating because I burn through color ink quickly and then the printer refuses to print black/white if the color is gone. The printer periodically pretends it's not connected to the wifi - even though I can see it is - and I often have to restart the printer to get it to print documents sent via wifi. It hasn't done this in a month so I don't know if the problem resolved itself with some software update. The touch screen still works well, and the scan bed is OK too. The mobile app is fairly easy to use and I've had no issues printing from my phone. I just wish the printer did better printing in color and I could save ink by being able to print in black and white!

Expensive Ink Cartridge from Epson

Had this for more than 3 years. Satisfied with end product of printing. However, I had no luck with using the remanufactured ink cartridge for this model because it is so expensive to use the Epson brand cartridge to keep up with printing what I have been doing. I just purchased a new printer ET-3850 using extended tank cartridge which really do make a big difference in printing cost. So, in other words, I will continue to use both printer for our printing needs. But in a better economical way to do it.

Not Worth It At All

This scans impossibly slow. For example, as I type this, i have 1 document- four pages, one sided each- and it takes 5 minutes for it to scan. I’m not even using the tray which eats documents all the time. The scanner itself just takes so much time whether you put it on the glass or the tray. The tray is somehow even worse bc it constantly overcomplicates the scans and causes jams. It’s not my wifi- my wifi signal is excellent. The scanning literally will stop for 30 seconds randomly and take forever to fully complete. I don’t have time for it when I have 20 documents to send. Again, as I type this, it’s been 45 minutes for me to scan through 6 documents- two had four pages, the others were one or two pages. It’s frustrating to deal with. The printing is okay. I’m sure you can find cheaper and faster printers. Overall, it’s not worth it and a huge waste of money.

2-sided scanning kept jamming. I followed all troubleshooting I could find on the internet without success. Resorted to scanning single sides on the glass and the software froze. Returning the printer and upgrading to an HP laser all-in-one.

So far good - this replaced another Epson Workforce so I was able to quickly set it up being familiar - although it is user friendly. I have need still for faxing, scanning, copying, etc. - this printer all in one does many things with ease. Print quality is nice although I rarely print. Faxes can come directly into your computer without waste of printing. Hopefully I will have this for a long time without issues.

The WF 4830 Pro is a replacement for our 3540 that died after a number of years of great use. We never had paper jams before but have already had several serious paper jams with the 4830 in just a few weeks. We are not as happy with the WF 4830.

I bought this product less than a year ago and it has constant paper jams, it only prints partial copies, feeds extra paper when printing. And finally, on one paper jam, in an attempt to clear the jam as per manual instructions one of the plastic gears broke off which rendered it useless. This printer is not worth buying because it is not durable and an overall terrible printer!

Do not recommend connection error
