  • A: I already had a jack from an old printer, so I used that. However, you do need to buy a jack for the printer if you want to print without wifi. Please note that you will also need to buy printer cartridges for the printer as the printer will not accept the cartridges that it came with.

  • A: The answers given are incorrect. While this printer does come with cartridges, they are specialized cartridges called "initial cartridges" and can NOT be used to print or copy .. you can ONLY use the cartridges that come with the printer to set up the printer initially. After the set-up you will be forced to buy new cartridges or else the entire unit becomes unusable. It won't even let you scan or fax, which don't use ink, until you go out and buy new cartridges. So while the previous answer given was "yes" it does come with cartridges. In reality, no it doesn't. Not cartridges that can be used to print or copy anything Again, the cartridges it comes with can only be used to align the printer and for the initial setup. After that, the printer will become fully unusable, until you replace the cartridges with new ones. So really, YOU HAVE TO BUY NEW CARTRIDGES with this printer or else you won't be able to use it.

  • A: Once again ,the responses from Target are incorrect. While this printer does come with cartridges, the cartridges it comes with are called "initial cartridges" and can ONLY be used for the initial setup and alignment. After that is done, the entire unit will become unusable until you go out and purchase all new ink cartridges. You won't be able to scan or fax let alone print anything. You can even access the settings. After the initial setup, the printer will just show you an error message until you replace the "initial cartridges" with new ones. So in reality, no this printer does NOT comes with ink that can be used to print anything besides the alignment pages.

Q: I can't figure out how to select "draft quality" when trying to print from my Mac OS 11.x. I have it hooked up using wired USB. Print quality only shows STANDARD or BEST. I want to print B&W in draft mode, and ideally duplex when multiple pages.

  • A: I figured it out. When it first connected, the mac defaulted it to the AirPrint driver. AirPrint drivers don't support the "Draft" quality selection. I had to download the Epson driver, then modify the printer setup to use the Epson driver instead of Airprint. Then I was able to see the additional print quality selections.

I only need to print in black and white so I only replaced that ink when they ran out. The printer will not print unless all colored ink is full too, even when "Black & White" is selected from the printed menu. It's trick hardware designed to make you purchase things even when you don't need them. I will not be buying any Epson product again.

Ink carts do about 12 pages, never had a headache printer like this one before. You can not even print unless all carts are full. Wont let you clean nozzles unless you put new carts. In my case of emergency went to buy black only to my surprise, it only works with all full carts. Had to get rid of it asap.

I purchased this printer about 9 months ago and have had continual problems with the ink cartridges. I bought a pack of non-Epson ink for refills about a month ago only to find out recently that the printer won't print because I am not using original Epson ink. I have never had this problem in the past with my other brand printer and I just had to buy almost $100 worth of Epson ink just to get my printer back up. In the long run, I have paid a lot more for choosing Epson for my office printer. Very dissappointed.

Printer worked great for the first couple of months. I had to change the ink cartridge, so I bought the one it told me to (epson brand). I put it in the way the instructions say… and nothing. The ink didn’t work. I thought maybe it was a bad cartridge so i bought another. It worked great the first print and thought my issue was resolved. I went to go print another sheet the next day and the ink was smudged and so light no one could make out the writing. I took the cartridge out and shook it again, it worked but this time had random ink splattered all over my paper and the edges of my paper was ripped during the printing process. I had high hopes for this but I realized the reason for the cheap price.

Software update stopped printer

I bought this printer for my home office and it did pretty well. Ordered new cartridges online and it continued to print very well. Last week when I performed a "software update" it failed to recognize the printer cartridges that had been working perfectly. Now my printer has stopped in the middle of a big project, I assume because Epson wants to printer cartrdige business as well (at double the cost). What a disappointment

This printer uses ink like crazy, the ink is pretty expensive and I felt bad every time I had to buy it. Overall this printer worked for me for about 2 years and then it just stopped printing. I’m glad I bought it on sale and didn’t pay full price for it.

The worst printer that I have ever purchased, I did not learn my lesson the from the first Epson printer that I had, I went ahead and purchased another Epson thinking of the value but you get what you pay for.
