Autumn Rose - 5 years ago
I bought this smoke alarm to replace my old one. The old one lasted 5 years, then the "end of life" warning started going off every few hours, with the full alarm and light. There is a date on the back when it was manufactured, and I also wrote the date I installed the battery, One negative: although it was the same First Alert smoke alarm with light as the old one, the bottom and base were different, so I had to take down the old bases (three in my small ranch), drill new holes, etc. It would be wonderful if the base could be universal, so all you have to do is untwist the old one from the base, and twist in the new one. It would make it a quick task, rather than a small project, where a drill was needed. Other than that, it's a great smoke alarm.
