While the initial cost may be higher the overall saving of LED bulbs makes it well worth the purchase. Three of the four bulbs replaced slightly larger in size 40 watt glove lights the LED bulbs gave the same output with a fraction of energy. These light bulbs work well and produce a soft bright light. The downside is GE put a label on the top of the bulb which is visible. Strange placement for an item advertised as decorative. GE should have place the label on the stem so it would be less visible.
