The worst batteries without warranty

used for only two months and three of the batteries were bloated and unable to fit in to camera and dual charger anymore. Gopro has REMOVED the warranty for batteries! It does not entitle for even a star, such a worse quality with high price without warranty and other replacement.

after 1 year passed, dramatically all 3 of max batteries are swollen up. performance dropped of course. I worried whether it is safe to use. whenever insert and pull out, it is tough due to battery stuck inside camera.
let's keep using it

I have 3 of them, but after not using them for a while with a full charge, all 3 of them swelled. I thought I could still use it, but it doesn't fit in MAX, so I couldn't use it after all...

The battery has gone soft and bulges making it slow to charge and fit into the camera/charger. At the price they cost yo'd expect a better product! :triumph:

I bought two spare batteries along with a charger, and I fully charged it when not in use and kept it away from the outside air. but after about a year they swelled up and became unusable.

not as easy to use as stated. the tiny screen makes it very easy to press on the wrong button. the app always fails connecting to the gopro.

I have had 2 batteries for my Max for about two years. I use the camera for one extended session per week. Sometimes, I might go for 2-3 weeks without using it at all. The batteries run the camera while on external ISB power for about 3-6 hours in total. So they have been used about a dozen times each in total. They have only every been recharged on an official GoPro dual charger. Both batteries are now swelling. One will no longer go into the camera, and the other is likely to be good for only 1 or 2 more times. The warranty is only good for 30 days. They just seem to not last. I won't ever use non-GoPro equipment (including batteries), so my only option is to replace them.

Chuck, Thanks for the feedback. When the battery is fully charged, AND if the camera will not be used for an extended period, we recommend that you take the battery out of the camera. It will last much longer (years as opposed to months), which is meaningful if you don't use your camera often. Also, please make sure MAX's firmware has been updated. That can help, and finally, please reach out to Customer Support here: https://community.gopro.com/s/?language=en_US -Team GoPro

They work, but only for a while. The batteries swell and get stuck in your camera and I had to pry them out with a screwdriver!
Works great.

Bought a couple of batteries for my GoPro MAX camera recently. The batteries perform well, and I use the camera on a daily basis for months on end. It performs well, however they do have a tendency to overheat and bulge over time, making them difficult to remove from the camera.

I have to frequently buy new batteries for my Max 360 and Hero 8 because even in GoPro’s charger they overcharge and swell. It seems they are flawed.

I had one of my batteries go bad a week before we left for the beach. I thought about ordering a knock off brand but didn't want to take the chance of it not working while on family vacation. I ordered a replacement from GoPro and it arrived just in time. Vacation saved!
