I am quite happy with this purchase. I was looking for something that I could use on the counter too instead of always using the stovetop or oven during the warmer months. I find this skillet is exactly what I needed. Thank you

This electric skillet is flimsy and poorly designed. The first time I used it, while I was cooking chicken breasts at 300 degrees, the pan shut off, but the light on the temperature control was on. I checked the heating control prong and realized it had fallen out of the plug on the side of the pan. I reinserted the temperature control into the plug and the pan came on. Five minutes later, the temperature control disengaged itself again from the plug and turned off the pan. Upon inspection, I recognized that the temperature control was falling off, because its weight was too heavy for the plug, and the temperature control prong did not fit snugly into the plug. So, it’s a design issue and it is dangerous. I used it a second time a week later. For 25 minutes while I cooked chicken, the control slipped out and I pushed it back in, multiple times. I returned this product because it’s not safe to use.

I bought this I think at the last Black Friday sale at a great price and love it. It was mostly easy to put together (the instructions didn't mention that there's like a little plastic piece that you kind of have to punch through in each of the holes where you're going to screw in the handles, but once past that it was very easy). So far I've used it to brown ground beef, make tacos/fry corn tortillas, fried noodles, and several one-pot pastas where the ingredients and pasta/broth all simmer together, and it's worked great for all of them. The temperature dial responds very quickly if you find it's too hot or cool for your ingredients. Very easy to clean. The handles/legs have become a tiny bit wobbly after several uses, but I just need to get the screwdriver out again to tighten them back up. Also not a big deal to me, but this is marketed as a Hamilton Beach brand, and while the box I got showed that as the brand, the label stamped on the skillet lid on mine is Proctor Silex. Again not a big deal to me, just mentioning it.

I absolutely loved using this electric skillet. I had to scramble eggs for over 50 people and it did not disappoint. The eggs were gorgeous and the skillet did not burn.

Requires assembly with a tiny little screwdriver you have to provide yourself. Would have been nice to know that before I got it home and tried to make breakfast. I guess i can eat tomorrow.
