About the Author

Kelly Russell Jaques was born and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts, then graduated from St. Michael's College in Vermont. She received a master's degree in English literature with a concentration in creative writing from the University of Notre Dame. She lives in New Jersey with her husband and three children. Although she doesn't have a hammock in her backyard, she does have a trampoline, just waiting for a tired tortoise.
