This product does well for my mild dandruff, but I cannot get past the awful smell. When I sniffed it in the store, I thought it was just an herbal smell and it was fine, but once its dry, it has a heavy medicine smell. It is all I can smell all day and it is awful. It isn't the same herbal smell it has in the bottle. Since it doesn't lather, I found it hard to know if I shampooed my whole scalp because it doesn't spread easily. I used 2x as much as other shampoos and still had an oily patch on part of my scalp.
i LOVE this shampoo. i've struggled with seborrheic dermatitis for most of my life and while products like t-gel and sulfur 8 helped me when i was in my teens, my scalp and hair no longer respond to those products. i also prefer to use predominantly natural products in my hair routine if possible, which is why i wanted to try this shampoo. after a couple years of an intense scalp flare up with no results, 2 weeks of this shampoo was able to exfoliate my scalp and make me flake free. you can definitely smell the sulfur in it but i don't really mind. because the formula is a bit drying and i have curly hair, i try to concentrate everything at the roots/scalp and use a moisturizing shampoo on the actual strands. right now i use this shampoo 2-3 times per week and it has been doing wonders for my hair.
Shampoo is great. Good service by target to offer auto delivery. But it came with plastic bubble wrap in the box. I wish they used all paper. Plastic is now one of the leading polluters ending into micro plastic, a substance toxic to us and other animals.
My bottle arrived broken at the cap and it had completely spilled out the smell was pretty over powering with it all just trapped inside this plastic bag. So that alone I probably would have knocked it down simply because it was handled so poorly. But Target honored my purchase and is sending me another one. The bottle had just a tiny bit left in the bottom so I put a smidge of water in it to be able to get it out just to test it out to see if this bottle was even worth the trouble I've already had to deal with. I was pretty pleased when my head started to have a cooling sensation like previous unhealthy brands I had tried. I didn't have enough to cover my whole head so it was mainly a tester but the spot that I did get to do it left my head feeling pretty good and the hair felt soft in that section. I am pretty happy with it and look forward to actually getting the whole product instead of a "sample"
Works great on my 11 year old who has scalp issues. The one complaint is the smell it leaves behind. Such a STRONG, awful smell. I'm trying to figure out a plan to mask the smell with something natural. No luck yet.
