Jozi Curls Non-greasy Strong Hold Styling Gel with Raw Shea Butter + Honeybush - 8.5 fl oz

I’ve tried so many gels like Rezo, Shea Moisture, Eco, etc. and I could never find a gel that had a strong hold while giving me minimal flakes and this gel does that for me! I was so surprised because it’s cheaper than most gels I’ve purchased and it is 90% better than any other gel I’ve tried to use to hold my hair. Coming from someone with 3b/3c curls I think this gel is perfect for me and I will continue to purchase it.

This gel seems to never dry, it leaves my hair feeling sticky. I wouldn't recommend for thin wavy/curly hair. My hair looks very frizzy and sticky.

This gel has a good hold however it leaves a horrible nasty buildup in your hair. I’m a female waver and it did accentuate my waves but the build up it leaves is not worth it.

Made my hair shed severely, I had to using it because my scalp and hairline was thinning. And it made my hair white and flake up. Don’t get me wrong it did have a strong hold but at what cost I do not want to risk losing hair over this.

Did the formula change? This gel is so tacky, leaves the hair flaky at the end of the day and hard. When it’s time to wash the hair you have to later it in shampoo and water like alot for it soften and get it out. This is my 3rd or 4th time buying this same gel and it’s different color and gel is thicker and clear. Where as before it was cloudy and softer. With this new gel I have to rinse my hands right after or else It will dry up and feel sticky. I used to love the forst few I purchased as I thought it was perfect for little girls.

What I like about this product it do and get with edge. I don’t like this products when it dry up and it is flaking looking glue. I won’t recommend this product

I've been on an intensive hunt for the perfect gel for over a year and have tried dozens. This is the by far best I've tried. I would say my search is over, but all the stores in my area had it on clearance and haven't restocked since it sold out out. If it's now only going to be sold online I'll certainly still purchase it, but I'm terrified that it will be discontinued altogether. Please don't do it, Target!

This gel had decent hold and helped my some of curls clump together, but left the top of my hair frizzy. I hate the way it feels, though - there’s no slip and it feels super dry once applied to wet hair. I loved the price and that it’s vegan but I’m not sure if I’ll even finish the bottle.

Great on my daughters thick curly hair! And I use on extra humid days. Very happy with it. And love that it’s vegan and sulfate free.

It does give a really good good. Does dry Whig a little bit

This is the best gel I have ever used. I have very short natural 3c/4a curls. This product gives me definition yet remains soft which is amazing. I follow up with the curl enhancing spray.

I have 4c or one texture below so I usually use eco gel and water to define my curls. I used this gel today with water and didn’t work and it made my hair look poofy aka nappy…my natural curl pattern wasnt enhanced it actually did the reverse. My coil/curls get nicely defined with eco gel and water so I’m gonna return this.

I usually get flakes and whiteness from other gels but I didn't have that problem with this one. It also really defined by hair.

I absolutely love this new product, Jozi Curls Strong Hold Gel!! This product has transformed my hair into beautiful, bouncy, curly ringlets!! In the morning, I squeeze about a quarter size amount into my palm, rub my hands together, and run the gel through my wet, damp hair, starting just a bit down from the roots and apply it all the way down to the tips. Warning, a little goes a long way and this tends to squirt out a decent size with just one well squeeze. For reference, my hair is very frizzy so I also use a smoothing cream on my roots, a detanger spray before I even start brushing, and perform bi-weekly hair masks and leave-in conditioner treatments. And if I'm in a hurry in the morning sometimes dry shampoo with a few spray bottle squirts of water. Then depending on the day I either leave my hair totally down to show off my beautiful tight curls, or throw it up in a high ponytail that still shows off my lush ringlets in the back. No hairspray needed as every curl stays in place with this Strong Hold Gel. This gel comes out clear, flake-free, and doesn't feel sticky or weigh my hair down. Plus, I love how silky and soft this product has made my hair!! One of the main ingredients is Raw Shea Butter, which is clearly working overtime keeping my locks looking and feeling healthy!! I also love that this product is free from Sulfates, Colorants, and Parabans so I can feel safe using this on my color-treated hair. In addition, this product is listed as Vegan and Cruelty Free so I can feel good about using this product and this brand. While the scent is mostly subtle with the Raw Shea Butter and Honeybush as the main scent notes, I really wish this product smelled better. It's not a bad smell, just not the typical delicious smelling hair product scents that I'm used to. Probably, because it's missing coconut from it's ingredient list lol. Regardless, I really do love this new product from Jozi Curls and have already added it into my regular hair care line up!! I would absolutely recommend this product for anyone looking to keep their curls soft, tight, and in place for several hours. I have been using this on my freshly washed hair for wash and go's and my twist-outs, and I can say that it has been an excellent addition to my routine. For my wash and go's, I layer this on after my leave-in conditioner. For my twist-outs, I layer this on after my leave-in conditioner and a twisting cream. I will say, I was hesitant to use the Jozi Curls Strong Hold Styling Gel because in my previous experience most gels either leave my hair crunchy feeling, flaky (which could be user error since I am pretty heavy-handed with products), or still frizzy. However, I did not experience any of these issues with this styling gel. It applies well, does not have an unpleasant smell which is super important while I go throughout my day, does not flake, and actually defines my hair. Another thing that surprised me was how hydrated it kept my hair throughout the day. I did not have to worry about having to rehydrate my hair between days or having my hair look dull and not full of life. I also appreciated how it defined my curls better than other products I have used, and I was able to really see my curl pattern pop out. The only complaint that I do have about the Jozi Curls Strong Hold Styling Gel is its size. For my girls with thick hair, you will see that you end up having to use a good amount to see the results you are looking for which means that you will run out of this product after a few hairstyles. I would appreciate it if it came in a larger container and maybe also in a jar for easy application to avoid having to open and close the bottle so many times while applying.

The gel is more of a softer gel, which is good as it leaves no crunch once it dries. But it is bad because it does not hold the curl so well. It claims strong hold, but I totally disagree.

I love this curly hair gel. It held my curls wonderfully without it being crunchy. I did receive this as a sample in exchange for a honest review, and I definitely approve!
