Description
Why is it that we go the extra mile for our skin but not our scalp? This non-drying scrub removes flakes, product build-up, excess sebum, and hard water deposits from the scalp, giving you a cleaner canvas through gentle exfoliation. I formulated this with a sugar complex to keep natural moisture intact.
How to: 1. Wet your hair. Use the pointed tip to part your hair and apply scrub directly on the scalp. 2. Gently massage the scrub in small circles.* 3. Rinse well. Then follow with shampoo and conditioner. *Don't use if your scalp has cracks or open sores... it won't feel good. Tip: this is gentle enough to be used weekly and on a sensitive scalp."
Contains Zip-Up Technology (tm), our proprietary strengthening complex designed to "zip-up" split ends while targeting weak areas of the hair, smoothing the appearance of damaged cuticles and helping to protect hair from environmental stressors and color fade.

Q: I see some reviews saying there is glitter in the product. Why is this not indicated on the outside of the bottle? Why would you put glitter in a hair scrub? Doesn't that just result in tiny pieces of plastic washing down the drain?

A: Hello! Thanks for your question. Our Scalp Scrub was originally formulated with glitter for the aesthetic but it has since been removed from the formula.

Not a huge fan of this scrub. I fine myself taking an hour long shiwer just to try to rinse this all out and the smell lingersssss until I shower again. If I slightly scratch my scalp after using this I have built up product under my nail. Wouldn’t buy this again.

Smells so good I could eat it but don’t worry, I haven’t and won’t! Exfoliating Scrub comes out thick but it’s easy to use and easy to apply. I absolutely love the pointed tip/nozzle for easy application. Definitely will buy again. My scalp feels so clean. Currently using as a monthly treatment. I have a sensitive scalp and I’ve never had an issue.

Absolutely not. I tried this as it’s a cost efficient option compared to Christophe Robin. The good reviews are from people getting a free product. This product is a thick gel with no grit. I couldn’t massage it onto my scalp and didn’t really have any affect on my scalp. Wish it would’ve worked out.

I have quite thick hair. This was a struggle to get to my scalp. It’s kind of sticky and felt like it was pulling at my hair. I don’t think it was able to get where it needed to be effective.

HAIR LOSS

The first time I used it the applicator seemed useless so I just used my fingers very gently. While rinsing I noticed a lot of hair clumps…. I have thick hair that reaches the middle of my back so although it’s not unusual to lose some hair, handfuls is uncommon. Just to be certain I tried again…. SAME THING! At this rate, I’d gently rub all my hair off by Labor Day if I kept on. I would never buy this again and if you love your hair you probably shouldn’t either.

So for reference I have very long and extremely think asian hair. I used to have my hair thinned because it’s too much but I haven’t for the last year and my scalp has been frustratingly oily, itchy, and for the first time in my life - dandruff! I’ve been trying everything to no avail. I found this scalp scrub and am just so tired of this issue that I grabbed it without much research or consideration. But let me tell you, IT HAS EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. For the first time in (months), I feel like my scalp is clean. It’s not a harsh shampoo so I’m hoping it doesn’t dry out my hair. It smells amazing. I could cry because I’m just so relieved. The only cons are that the pointed tip is pretty big so it doesn’t part my hair and the consistency is thick. But I just put some on my fingers and massaged it from front to back and I didn’t have an issue. I’m really hoping it doesn’t make my scalp more oily but so far so good. 4 stars because I’m unsure of the long term benefits but 5 stars for what I’ve experienced so far using this product!

I 100% recommend, I had build up/ dandruff from products. I have extra thick hair so I doubted this was going to work on me. Surprisingly this actually cleared up a lot of the build up on my scalp. I only used it twice & used about 3 quarter size amounts & massaged my scalp and just like that… it was amazing !

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. I have tried many scalp scrubs, some affordable and some high end options. This is my least favorite of ALL the ones I tried. It’s so thick, it’s hard to squeeze onto your scalp as directed. It’s even harder to massage into the scalp to exfoliate. Such a waste of money. My favorite so far has been the Not Your Mothers Curl Talk Scalp Scrub. It massages and exfoliates well, smells great and leaves your scalp feeling fresh.

Did not exfoliate my scalp whatsoever. Still had the buildup after my shower. My glycolic acid works better. Will be returning (I have dry scalp with lots of flake build up, I exfoliate my scalp then use a moisturizing shampoo) Also it has such a thick consistency it feels almost like a body scrub and it’s so easy to use more than you need

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Kristin Ess scalp scrub is supposed to cleanse your scalp/hair of product buildup. I love this idea so was excited to try. The packaging is nice . The scrub comes out of a pointed tip so you may apply directly to scalp. My problem with the scrub was that both times using, massive amounts of my hair was coming out. It also left my hair severely tangled. I will not use again. 2 stars for scent and packaging.

I've been struggling with a lot of buildup on my scalp and oh my gosh this product just made me feel so clean! It's an exfoliating scrub like you would use on your body but for your head. I wouldn't recommend if you have a really sensitive scalp because it is pretty rough feeling. My head as never felt so clean

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so happy with the Kristen ess scalp scrub i highly recommend to anyone especially if you have a issue with dandruff. I was really skeptical at first because I have used different brands and the dandruff came back within a day but I caught a break when I used this scalp scrub and shampoo and it gave me a 3-5 day dandruff break. The only thing I had a issue with is that I have never used a scalp scrub before and I wanted to open my eyes (my fault) and the little beads got in my eyes on once and it takes a little longer to get it out of your hair but totally worth it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cannot fully give my experience because I don't think my hair type is ideal for this product. With thick and curly hair, the applicator is way to large to be useful separating my hair. The product itself is so thick that i couldn't get it to reach my scalp and I felt by rubbing it I was tangling my hair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This scalp scrub is so refreshing, it smells good, it's hydrating, it's exfoliating. The consistency of the product is like a sugar scrub you'd use for your body, but thicker. It's very dense, but I put it directly on my scalp add a little but of water and really work it in. After that I condition well to make sure it's all out. It is super soothing to the scalp.
