A: Thanks for your inquiry Shelby! Colorista shades for Light Blonde or Bleached hair will not show up on Dark Brown. You would have to bleach your hair prior to applying, or consider a darker purple permanent color option that could lift and deposit pigment. If you want a pastel color like lavender or pink, your hair would have to be bleached first.

A: Hello, Chlorine can fade haircolor or cause hair to become dry or dull. It may even discolor the hair. Color-treated, permed and highlighted hair is more vulnerable to the damaging effects of chlorinated water. There is no suggested waiting period for swimming after coloring or highlighting your hair. We suggest you wet your hair with tap water before going into a chlorinated pool and shampoo your hair immediately upon leaving a chlorinated swimming pool. Thanks for your interest in L'Oreal!

I have dark brown hair with some light strands from the sun and decided to dye them pink! I did leave it on for about 45 minutes since I have darker hair and it came out so pretty. I had no issues with staining anything and my hair came out so soft. Pretty sure it’ll fade in a week or so but definitely something fun to try out this summer!

My go-to product for dying my hair at home. My friends have had mixed results -- it definitely shows up more on some people than others, and the color can vary in hue across one person's hair (I like this effect because I think it gives the color more depth). However, it causes little to no damage and doesn't stain badly as long as any spills are cleaned up immediately. Personally, I have had consistently great experiences -- all three colors I've used have been beautifully vibrant, lasted for weeks or months, and left my hair feeling healthy and soft. Great way to switch up your hair, and a super fun group activity.

Dyed everything but my daughters hair. My tub is a mess. I rinsed her hair out carefully and my tub is stained so bad, her skin is dyed from the rinsing process as well. I willnot be buying this product again

I applied the color purple 400 to my level 9 bleached under layer thinking I was gonna get a nice light wash of purple. As you can see in the photo it's extremely dark and as a result I'm extremely disappointed. How could you get pastel so wrong? Usually the issue is the color not showing up. The reason I didn't give 1 star I'd because they included three pairs of decent gloves and a brush in the kit. The conditioning base also left my hair feeling super soft.

We know how disappointing it can be to look forward to a new application of color only to find that your results are not what you expected. There are many reasons why haircolor results can come out too dark. Results will vary depending on the starting level of color or the hair's porosity it can absorb a darker color. This will not work unless your hair is blonde or has been lightened. My teenager's hair was lifted to a platinum blonde and this hair color applied like a dream. The hot pink is vibrant and lasted twice the amount of time it was supposed to. It was a breeze to use and the results were fantastic. Do not expect a color change if your hair is brown or darker. This is meant for light hair.

This dye got EVERYWHERE and stained my daughter’s skin, and the shower and the counter… Do not rinse this out in the shower! We should have done head down in the sink so the color would go right in the sink and not allllll over her skin. And the shower. The counter wasn’t too bad to clean- 5 or 6 goes with an all purpose cleaner. The shower was trickier. The skin is still stained 2 days later but we assume it will wear off at some point!

I love this Colorista SemiPermanent Hair Dye for Brunettes. I have Medium Brien to Light Brown Hair and finally found something that holds and works for darker hair without having to bleach and strip my hair first. The Tangerine Irangey Red colour is great and blends in well with my natural hair colour. And I live the Green colour for fun. I also have the Blue. But when I first used it, I did as directed. But now I just put a small amount on the included brush and apply it to my roots and it penetrates better with using the small amount sparingly and brushing it into my roots. I don’t wash it out until a few days and that way it penetrates even more and will last for months. It’s a great product. I hope it’s not discontinued. It works great for my hair. The other leading brand Splat for brunettes is too messy and comes off easily. L’Oréal Colorista is much better and comes with a nice brush.

This dye used to be my favorite, but now it stains so much more. I’m glad it works better, I guess, but I liked it because of how it worked before. Before the change, it was perfect for beginners to hair dye. It wouldn’t stain and it would wash out slowly and fade beautifully before. Now, it stains your skin for at least another shower. It doesn’t fade (which I guess is nice if I knew that before dying my hair). And last, When I tried to bleach the purple out, I was left with bright blue hair. I just really wish they would go back to the old formula. It worked so much better for beginners or even for a nice fading dye. Just be ready to have the same color for months.

I have used this product in multiple colors. Mostly various pinks and purples. It is very easy to use and you will get great results if you are able to rad and comprehend the instructions, this seems to be an issue based on reading the reviews. It is dye, be careful or it can be messy. It clearly states it’s for blonde/bleached hair. Natural blonde will have less noticeable results, bleached more vibrant and darker than that likely minimal to no noticeable results. Reading is fundamental people!
