Q: Does the benzoyl peroxide ingredient in this product cause bleaching of fabrics, like sheets and towels?
A: I would like to know the answer to this question too. The Target Team Member who answered clearly didn't understand the question and did not provide a relevant, helpful answer.
submitted byMaddie - 4 years agoA: YES. I've ruined a few (brand new) towels and pillowcases before I realized what was causing the bleach marks. Be careful to wash your hands thoroughly after applying this product. (Or maybe even apply with a Q-tip.) And maybe let the cream totally dry before putting on clothing or laying on a pillow.

Q: Can I use it with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide?
A: Hello Yasmin! Benzoyl peroxide, an ingredient in our Effaclar Duo, can sometimes interact with other ingredients. It's generally recommended to avoid combining benzoyl peroxide with certain actives like retinol or vitamin C due to potential irritation or reduced efficacy. Regarding hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, it's best to consult with a dermatologist or skincare professional for personalized advice on combining these ingredients with benzoyl peroxide. You can also check the La Roche-Posay website for their official recommendations.

Q: If I get this product on my clothes, sheets, or towels, will it bleach them out or cause the color to fade? I'm asking this again because the question was not directly answered the last time someone asked.
A: Hi Maddie! Benzoyl peroxide may bleach fabrics. As a precaution, make sure Effaclar Duo is blended into skin thoroughly and wait for it to completely dry. Wash hands after application. Be mindful of your towels and bedding, white is preferred, as bleaching is more noticeable on colored fabrics. Hope this helps!
