At Lands' End we're proud to believe every body is a beach body. And that goes for kids too! Fortunately little boys don't usually need much to have fun in the sun. Just some sandals a fluffy towel a bucket and shovel...and our great volley swim trunks of course. Made from durable polyester fabric these swim bottoms block harmful UV rays and provide UPF 50 sun protection that doesn't fade wash away or pollute the ocean. The amazing material is also quick drying (so he won't get stuck in a soggy suit) and resists damage from chlorine. We've also added a faux fly back pocket with drainage grommets and a supportive mesh lining. The elastic waistband has plenty of stretch and the functional drawstring can be tightened or loosened as needed. Take these packable swim trunks along on your next family vacation. He can wear them when he's splashing in the hotel pool playing in the surf or zipping down a water slide. And since they're machine washable caring for them couldn't be easier.

Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

Height

Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.
Chest

Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.
Waist

With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.
Hip

Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.
Inseam

Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.
