Fun little builds

Nicely designed little sets, and I think the blind box is a lot of fun. I seem to have terrible luck though. I have purchased roughly 15 of these, and I still have yet to get Hammer Bro, Toad, Toadie, or Red Yoshi. I do have a massive army of Shy Guys, but it would be cool to at least get one of each. Anyone wanna trade? :)

Purchased my second character pack recently, and disappointed I got another non-yoshi or even the shy guy... I received the fox in the first box, and the duckbot on the second.

I believe that mystery boxes are anti-consumer

I have been buying Lego Collectable Minifigures and Mario Character Packs for many years now. My local toy store has been fully supportive of feeling the bags to identify parts inside, so Lego fans like me can buy the specific ones that want. With the move to packing this series in cardboard boxes, it is impossible to identify the character without purchasing and opening the box - and there a good chance that it won't be the character you want. For this reason, I believe that this 'mystery box' practice is anti-consumer. I would prefer to buy the characters I want by identifying them at a toy store so my money can go to the toy store and Lego. The previous blind bags allowed me to do this. Now, I need to pay a Lego reseller for the characters I want at a marked-up price because they identified the characters as a way to make a profit. I am fully supportive of Lego's initiative to move away from plastic packaging and use more sustainable materials like cardboard. I am just disappointed in how it is being handled with Mario Character Packs, and hope that this doesn't happen with Collectable Minifigures as well. My suggestion for improvement is to state on the box which character is inside. I hope that the Lego community can see more consumer-friendly practices with these series.

Lots of duplicates

Another win for the Super Mario Legos and my son. He loves the element of surprise and building them. Im not a fan of spending money on something that we potentially could already have and being stuck with it. I know it's part of the fun but as a parent who wants to buy their kids legos (which is already a pricey toy) I just wish I could know in advance what the character was. I do love the character options that you could potentially get. I just wish you didn't have to buy so many duplicates to be able to complete the set.

Bring back the blind bags

I read that LEGO is moving away from the plastic blind bags to help the environment and as a result they have settled on these cardboard boxes. I'd like to understand what this is accomplishing because inside the cardboard box is a plastic bag that contains all of the pieces. So essentially the result is MORE waste, not less, and we can no longer feel the pieces inside the bag to determine which figure we are buying. LEGO--please go back to the polybags for the collectible minifgure sets!

These are great! I personally enjoy the new boxes they're in. People here are only leaving negative reviews since they can't be ignorant and poke holes in bags anymore to cheat and get only ones they need. It's called a BLIND BAG for a reason. Take the risk or don't buy them. Easy.

Nice figures, however with a limit of 10 per person it is almost impossible to collect the whole series, which is very disappointing..

Love the characters, loathe the blind box

The quality of the character models and their fun factor is on point, as always. However, we won't be pursuing the whole set on this series because it's not possible to determine what's in each box. If we wanted blind product bags we'd go with other "knock-off" brands, but from LEGO I expect to know exactly what I'm buying every time. (Like it has always been)

Best Character Pack Series Yet

This is easily the best character pack that lego has done. They now come in a cardboard box which is more eco friendly, but also makes it feel higher quality. The roster of characters you can find has been cut down from 10 to 8 which is a welcome change as it makes it easier to get them all without having to buy a lot in case of duplicates. I don't mind the blind bag aspect of this product and I actually like it, but not everyone may enjoy this system in future releases. The cut roster makes for a better quality one. Each character and pack is bigger and feels more like you're getting an actual character rather than a mini character. Its also nice that there are some allies in this series rather than just all enemies, which is a nice mix-up. Red Yoshi is my favorite and would love to see more Yoshi colors. I love the direction these character packs are going in and would love for them to continue in the future.

Disappointing duplicates

This is the first time we tried purchasing blind boxes. They are a disappointment. We purchased 4 boxes and ended up with only two unique characters: two squirrels and two Nabbits. I wish LEGO would sell these in identifiable packages so that the consumer could purchase exactly what they want, or that sets of 8 unique characters were available for purchase. Duplicates are disappointing and a waste of money. I will NOT be buying these again.

More Super Mario Fun!

I love the bigger builds included with this character pack series, and I especially like the new packaging; the box protects the pieces from damage. I enjoy the surprise and do not need to feel the pieces before making a purchase. I wish I had room at home for the entire Super Mario series, so the character packs are perfect for the limited shelf/desk space I have; any duplicates I receive I share with friends. I think a Mario Kart series would be fun with the vehicle builds for each character.

I bought 4 packs and happened to get Toadie and Rabbit which I had hoped for. Also got red Yoshi and a second Rabbit. Next time I’ll try for Shy Guy, my all time favourite! I highly recommend this product.

Thanks for your review and feedback. Just like you, we receive the character packs in their mystery bags, and we don't have any way of telling which character is in which bag. If you buy more than one figure, there is a chance you might get duplicates. The awesome thing about our collectible character packs is that they’re fun to trade with your friends!

We love going instore and feeling the bags for duplicates of the characters we would like more of. The new packaging it's not possible and weighing is not accurate. Hope they can change back to the bags for future series
