The larger one actually has 2 bump things (1 on each side) to keep the lid in place and is a bit more sturdy. It’s an older one but there are two different versions.

Q: Just got this. The lid just loosely rests on top of the base (doesn't snap on). How have folks secured the lid so it doesn't fly off in bad weather? (It weighs nothing). Kinda an oversight by the manufacturer :/

A: You can certainly fill the sandbox with water for water play. You probably wouldn't need to drill a hole as you could lift it to dump the water.

I had a Little Tikes Turtle sandbox as a kid and was excited for my kids to share that with me. The price was good during a sale, so I grabbed it. I was quite surprised that it was not only much smaller than the original, the plastic felt thinner/cheaper as well. I probably could have read the sizing a little better, but didn't expect that much of a difference to what I remembered. It was a bit too small for two toddlers to play together, but one would be fine.

This is the best, we use it as a pool since all the other little kiddie pools break before the season is even over. Love that there is a cover. We have had this for 2 years now and it’s still going strong!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Little Tikes very kindly gifted us this fantastic Turtle Sandbox and Lyla absolutely loves it! It’s so sturdy and versatile. At the moment we are using it as a ball pit but we can’t wait for the weather to get better so that we can fill it with sand in the garden. The lid is great for keeping the balls contained (and playing hide and seek under!) and when it’s out in the garden it will help to keep the sand clean. The legs make perfect little seats which will save from getting sandy bums! It’s bright and colourful but will blend with the grass lovely in the garden. The turtle also has a very cute face! A firm favourite in our house! Roll on summer!

We absolutely love this little sandbox. It’s big enough for both of our toddlers to play in and is good for hours of play to come! We love that it comes with a lid to prevent critters from getting in. We do live in a very windy area so we will be putting on a little buckle to ensure the lid stays on since it doesn’t lock in place.

Using it indoors as a ball pit was definitely a hit and now the weather is improving we’ve been able to use it outdoors in the garden to enjoy the sand and play diggers! It also comes with a lid which is styled out as the turtles shell for tidying away at the end of a fun day and the feet double up as a handy little seat too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love our Turtle Sandbox. In the summer we play with it outdoors and in the winter it’s great as a ball pit in the house which the boys adore. They love playing pirates and burying treasure in there and diving into it when it’s full of balls in the house. When playing in the sand in it they love to make sandcastles as well as making tracks for their vehicles to race through. The handy seats on the side are great for them to perch on when digging in the sand and the whole thing is extremely sturdy. We love the versatility of it and the boys have hours of fun making up games using it.
