Q: Shopping online I'm finding the explanations about set the timer confusing. Is the bezel first moved to 55 then back to desired time? Is that what you mean?
A: Hi - To use: Wind timer clockwise between "55" and "0" minutes on the dial, then wind timer in a counterclockwise direction to set desired time. Give your kitchen space a touch of traditional style with this Metal Kitchen Cooking Timer from Hearth & Hand™ with Magnolia. Hope this helps. - Thene
submitted byThene - 2 years agoTarget staff supportA: Hi T_H_M, thank you for your question. You are correct. By turning the silver bezel in a clockwise rotation until the hand falls between "55" and "0", you are winding up the timer mechanism. Please note: do not force the hand to move clockwise beyond "0" as this could damage the mechanism. Next, turn the bezel in a counter clockwise motion until the hand lands on your desired set-time. If your intent is to set the timer for one hour, simply turn the silver bezel in a clockwise rotation until the hand falls just before the "0" and let it go. You need to follow the instructions and wind the timer clockwise to the “55” then back counterclockwise to whichever time you choose. If the instructions aren’t followed, the timing will be off and the item will not ring. Thank you. - Kay

Q: I've misplaced my setup instructions. Can you please let me know how to set up my kitchen timer?
A: Hi calexp, thank you for your question. Please see the following instructions. STEP 1: First, wind-up the timer. Turn the silver bezel in a continuous clockwise rotation until the timer hand falls between "55" minutes and "0" minutes on the dial. Note: Do not allow the hand to turn past "0". STEP 2: Set the timer by turning the silver bezel in a counter-clockwise rotation until the hand points to the desired timer set-time. STEP 3: Alarm will sound for 3 seconds when time is up. Note: After the alarm has sounded, you will hear the mechanical hand's mainspring resetting itself; this is normal. STEP 4: Repeat steps 1 & 2 to set timer again. CAUTION: Do not turn the bezel/hand counter-clockwise directly from position "0"; this will damage the timer device. Always turn the bezel in a clockwise rotation, as instructed in step 1, prior to setting the desired time. Do not submerge or saturate the timer with water. If the timer is exposed to water or liquid of any kind, wipe dry promptly.
