The Portola Hills Caned-Door Console with Fully Assembled Shelves from Threshold™ designed with Studio McGee boasts the perfect blend of retro-inspired style and modern flair. This beautiful console cabinet features a hardwood frame in a lovely finish, but the real interest comes from a pair of curved cabinet doors finished with cane inserts on either end of the cabinet. Round legs and an oval top carry the smooth shape through the whole piece, while two central shelves let you display your favorite accent pieces even as you keep odds and ends out of sight in the cabinets. Beautiful cabinet that was actually not too hard to put together. The instructions had help to align the doors, although I only needed to adjust one. Always remember to leave a little wiggle room with screws until the end. The side support posts can block the cane ends of it is installed off angle.

Pretty but very difficult and time consuming to assemble. Some parts of the instruction are very vague and don’t show things accurately or in a well illustrated manner.

I love this piece and already have the matching tv concole. I expected assembly to take awhile based on reviews and it did. It probably took me 3 hours to do it alone. And I did have to drill new holes in the doors because the pre-drilled ones did not align correctly. This was definitely annoying but otherwise the directions were understandable and not an issue. None of the parts were damaged and all of the correct hardware came with it. It took a little while to adjust the doors to close all the way but it was totally doable - just follow the directions. PS I was worried about a bunch of the 2024 reviews saying the wrong item was shipped but I was sent the correct item (mid-April)

Received the wrong item for the 2nd time. 1st time, I opened the box and noticed it was the wrong item. Had to carry the huge box down 3 levels. Put it inside the car and take it to a UPS store. Got my money back that same day. 2nd time, I placed the order, hoping their mistake would be fixed and it wasn't. I received the wrong item once again. I didn't take the box to my unit 3 floors up. I called Target and told them I'm not taking it to UPS, and they can come pick it up. They requested the pick up. UPS picked it up Monday, and it was delivered to Target 3/19 on tuesday. I called Friday to see what's the hold up with the refund, and they said I should get the refund on Monday. I just called today, 3/27, to ask about the refund. They said a refund take 7 to 10 business days. He stated that they have to inspect the item to make sure everything is there. I found that hard to believe. I asked how it was possible for me to return the item the 1st time to a UPS, and I got the refund that same day. Now, because I requested Target to pick up the wrong item they sent me, I have to wait longer. That just doesn't make any sense. FYI, Target will delay the refund if you don't return it yourself to UPS or FedEx. And they won't tell you that it'll get delayed if you request a pick up. Thank you, Target.

Also ordered the console, but got the caned TV stand 72” in natural. Called and have a pick up scheduled for return tomorrow. I asked them to note this issue when sending the replacement since it’s happening to many people. We’ll see what comes Monday.

I ordered this console in Walnut. I received Portola Hills Caned Door TV Stand for TVs up to 72" in Natural instead. Chatted with customer support. They arranged for a return pick up and the correct item to be sent. But, again, I received Portola Hills Caned Door TV Stand for TVs up to 72" in Natural. Another round of chatting with customer support. They are not able to fix the issue and advised me to just wait and place the order later. There's a review that says this issue has persisted since January. Really?! Target, you can do better.

For anyone who has ordered and they send the wrong item (the 72 inch TV stand in natural) you’re not alone! I’ve been trying to order this in walnut since January 1st and after 3 canceled orders I’ve received the giant TV stand twice now.

Beautiful style but needs improvement. Doors do not fully close no matter how much I try to fix it. I had to install magnets to keep them shut. Only 1 shelf for the whole unit. There’s no shelving behind the door compartments. This makes it very useless since there would be nothing that would require such tall compartments. So I need to install additional shelving. Many of the parts were not fitting right, the screws would be slightly off… It’s a beautiful piece, but I’ve been an IKEA customer for many many years and am experiencing building and troubleshooting, and it’s clear that the design team needs to improve their quality process, as well as the packaging which is immensely wasteful. Also the price point doesn’t justify having to add so many extra parts that do not already come with it.

Love how it looks. It took awhile to assemble. It certainly would help with an additional set of hands. Lining up the doors took forever. I think I assembled and disassembled like 10xs on one of the doors bcuz it wouldn’t close properly. It stuck out. I finally had my bf come over and removed the door and with another pair of hands was able to line it up and now it closes perfectly.

This piece is sturdy and good quality. It has a mid century modern feel but could easily fit in with any decor style. While the assembly instructions are adequate, they would benefit from additional details or images to prevent potential mistakes that may not become apparent until assembly is complete. However, if you approach the assembly process with patience will be satisfied with this console.

Really loved the look of this product. Assembly was daunting but once it was together it was nice minus some minor defects that I could live with. Within a day of building and having this product in my home, I had noticed a small cluster was moving dust that appeared on the door corner. The whole item was invested with mites. This has been reported to customer service but sharing for awareness.

Not hard to put together! I did make a mistake with the legs - front vs back, but that was bc I didn’t read the directions correctly. Just take it slow. Bc the bales are so close in u do have to use the provided wrench so be prepared with time, but worth it. Stylish liquor cabinet, can’t wait to decorate!

Absolutely love this console. Hands-down, the main piece of furniture that everyone compliments when they come in to my home. I cannot count how many times I am asked where I purchased this item and the shock when they find out that I got it from target. This item is great quality and looks more expensive in person. It is a bit of a hassle to put together but if you can get through that part, it’s worth it. I have used this as a bookshelf, a record cabinet, and now a bar and it’s worked perfectly each time.
