This piece is Beautiful, really stunning... But such a huge pain to put together by yourself. I bought 2; and the first one took me about 3 days to finish. The second was much easier…a lot of hardware and pieces, just seems that the assembly was a complete afterthought. There are also no shelves behind the rattan doors…seems like a missed opportunity. Pretty frustrating especially with the price tag.

This really does seem like nice quality and is solid wood, but like others have said, assembly is a nightmare (even from someone who has put together a lot of furniture). It’s difficult to put together as one person, and there were a lot of alignment issues, especially when putting on the back caned pieces. The hinges however… those have continued to be impossible. I got one door on perfectly aligned and it looks great. I understand how to adjust the hinges, but the other side just will not align no matter what. I started to give this three stars but as I’m writing this, I’m reminded of my frustration and literal HOURS spent on just one side’s hinges, and I’m knocking it down to two stars. Hours spent trying to get it to line up and it still isn’t done.

This came in what seemed like a million pieces. After 2.5 hours of assembling I threw in the towel. Pieces weren’t aligned which made it impossible to attach the doors. The legs were also at different heights. So disappointing - the item looks stylish online but doesn’t translate in person. I expected better quality from Studio McGee.

The item is not worth the price. This item took over 3 hours to put together and had so many quality issues. -misalignment of screw holes -doors would not shut -MDF board was beat up -chipped off parts that where still painted and passed the quality assurance The one star this item has going for it is that the item is on trend.

I recently put together the walnut color of this and I have to say, the assembly is pretty difficult for one person. I had an instruction manual but the pictures were a little confusing on some steps where I had to go back and redo some parts but it wasn't too difficult of a fix. Overall the quality of the furniture was good, and I had a printed instruction manual that was maybe a 3/5 on details. **I would HIGHLY recommend to use a socket wrench with an Allen wrench head adapter instead of the tiny Allen wrench provided or else you'll be hurting your hands trying to tighten hard to reach screws. Assembly issues: Now some of the pain points in the reviews where it said the holes didn't line up with some of the screws were a little true for me as well. This wasn't until I got to the part of putting on the caned doors. I was only able to successfully screw in 2 out of the 3 screws to secure the back caned door by forcing some of the pieces to align by squeezing really hard to make the hole align with the screw. This took a good 30 minutes to get it right because it was kind of exhausting. For people who complained about not getting the doors to close all the way, there's instructions on how to adjust the hinges so that wasn't an issue. But you do need to play around with it until you get it to close properly.

I never write reviews and usually buy what I want regardless of the reviews, however I thought I would share my experience anyway. This is a cute cabinet and I bought another piece from this collection also. It is not easy to put together and the doors are 2 different colors on the square piece. I also had a chip in the wood and the doors don't close properly on the rounder version of the cabinet. They are both pretty although not without issue.

We were so excited about this beautiful cabinet, and disregarded other reviews. Big mistake. The instructions to build it are very confusing and we had to use a drill to add in holes for things that did not seem to line up. On top of that, the door on one of the sides is deformed and does not close properly. Huge waste of money and feeling quite upset about this. Save your money!

This is a beautiful cabinet. The question: is it worth $320? No probably not, but I have been searching for something to hold my record player and speakers for long enough to cave into the price. My husband is pretty handy so it wasn't too difficult to put together, but did take around 2.5 hours as we had some difficulties getting screws to fit in certain spots and the doors to look even. If you're not very confident in reading booklet instructions, or you don't have someone who is patient enough to help then I wouldn't recommend this product. Records DO fit on the shelves if you adjust it to the highest fit, and I would imagine most standard speakers fit into the side cabinets. My husband wasn't thrilled with having the speakers inside the cabinets just because he can tell the sound is coming from lower, but the cabinet doors themselves do not alter the sound. The top piece of wood did have a spot of imperfection, but it is covered by the record player so I decided not to fuss over it too much. Hope this review helps someone who is also in search of an aesthetically pleasing piece for their record player!

Assembly is NOT easy. I read the reviews and bought it anyway because of looks but honestly I would have paid more than double for a different piece that came assembled. I have put together countless furniture items as most people have and this was beyond annoying. It took hours of my life away. There are so many marginal errors in the pre drilled holes and alignment of the legs and doors that ultimately just caused me regret for spending my money on the product. I reworked the hinges for HOURS. The doors just will not line up and close properly. I’m a perfectionist and I warn you, this is not the item for you if you are the same. It is cute but the door issue is huge. Also a back panel was impossible to get in properly and after much debate and disassembly to again reassemble I left a screw out. Absolute nightmare.

I loveeeee this cabinet. Great quality and perfect statement piece. I have been looking for a good cabinet to hold my record player and vinyls. This exceeded all expectations! My speakers even fit perfectly in the side doors with no reverberations because of the wicker style. If you have someone even semi-handy in the house ignore these bad reviews. Took my husband less than a hour a to build and he didn’t have to drill any holes or any of the things listed in previous reviews. Def recommend!

1. took me roughly 2 hours to put together, working nonstop. i have never put together furniture before ever, so i didn’t think that was that bad. wish the instructions were cleared about which way pieces should be facing and details like that 2. the pre drilled holes kind of suck. had to really force the doors into place to get them screwed on. one of the legs with the metal threaded part was super off and i had to force it and even then only got the screw halfway in. the front legs are flush with the top, but the back legs are not. one of the doors doesn’t really close all the way, even after adjusting the hinges every possible way 3. came missing one teeny tiny screw for the middle shelf to go on 4. overall, quality is meh. if i didn’t love the way it looks i’d probably have given it 2 stars

Although I love it and it exactly fits my style, the assembly was ridiculous. Although the directions specifically say not to use a drill I would not have been able to assemble without it. Not to mention that some of the parts had holes drilled incorrectly that I had to drill to enlarge them to make it possible to assemble. All said and done I would still purchase this because ultimately it is exactly what I was looking for and is a very good quality in my opinion.

When all the comments say this is an absolute pain to put together, believe them. None of the holes line up, unless you have a power drill and want to redo them you’ll just be muscling screws in best you can and hoping the thing doesn’t fall apart randomly one day.

The item is pretty when put together. The console was almost impossible to put together. The holes did not align to put on the cabinet doors. My husband had to purchase shims to get the holes to even get close to line up and then he had to drill the holes further in order to screw the cabinet doors on. If it hadn’t been for his help, it would not have gone together. When I reported “fix and issue” my only option was to disassemble and try and fit it all back in to the box to return. Very frustrating and not the quality I was expecting.

I started assembling only to realize that I did not receive a top piece with a smooth top, but rather 2 of the bottom pieces. Up to that point, assembly was difficult and unclear too. I wish I would've listened to the negative reviews. As it seems I can't just be sent the correct piece, I will be returning the enitre thing.

Overall a nice piece, but pre-drilled holes on leg “K” are reversed. It was made wrong and table cannot be put together without using your own wood screws and a drill. Im not sure how to get replacement parts or if it’s even possible. I’m sure this was a one off situation, but be warned that some pieces might be wrong and a little bit of creativity might be involved to fix it.
