Q: Can I use this to stick to itself? That is, if I put one piece on one item and another piece on another item, can I stick one to the other?

A: No, you cannot. The magnetic poles are the same, so they will not stick together. I would suggest looking into Velcro or magnetic nametags with adhesive to stick to both sides.

Q: If I stuck the adhesive side directly to a wall, would it be hard to take down/would it pull the paint off with it?

Works fine for me. I'm only using it put on the back of my finished perler bead creations. That's probably all this tape can handle. It's not gonna hold heavy things. I use two stripes. I just cut one down for that. Haven't had one apart, haven't had to use other glue. Definitely gonna get another roll. I do see the residue like some have noted.

I had to double-check that I didn't somehow buy a different product. This tape has no magnetic properties to speak of. I can't think of a legitimate use for a "magnet" so weak. Won't even stick on the refrigerator.

Was hoping this would work to hang a very light weight 14x14 white board calendar on my fridge. It held for about 10 seconds and then the calendar fell off the fridge. I would only use this tape if you’re attaching it to paper… however the 3M adhesive wasn’t strong at all.

This stuff barely qualifies as magnetic. I wanted to use it to stick a dry erase board to my fridge but I should have just bought regular Scotch tape, that would have been infinitely more effective. Would not recommend.

Not worth buying! The adhesive is JUNK. We were trying to hang a small, LIGHT white board to the fridge and the board actually fell off the tape. The magnet tape stayed on the fridge but the board came off the adhesive side. Waste of time and money. Had to use super glue in hopes that it stays.

Weak magnets + weak adhesive = waste of time and money! Didn’t last a week. Tried hanging up my tea cans- about 6 oz each - and it took 3 strips for the magnets to be able to hold on. Even then, the hold was weak and if you accidentally nudged a can, they’d come tumbling down. Adhesive was equally unimpressive. First image shows the first failure after 4 days of use, and the second photo shows the inevitable and final failure at 8 days of use. Extremely disappointed. :(

Being called "Magnetic Tape" it was reasonable to presume the tape was magnetic. After finding this not to be the case I looked at the information closely and noticed the product states "mount it on a magnetic surface" indicating this is NOT magnetic itself but instead allows connection of an object onto something else when that is magnetic. Would not be nearly so upset if not for the clearly misleading product packaging. (and NO, I'm not going to call some stupid number about a problem that seems to have been known per other reviews for years).

Just opening the package, my hands were covered in soot-like black dust. I tried wiping it off, but just kept shedding. In the end, I threw this out. It would’ve ruined my craft project.
