Q: How does this tanner interact with body chemistry? As the tan develops tanner always seems to make me smell gross.

A: Hi Sarah! The SOL by Jergens Sunless Tanning Water Mousse work with your skin tone to recreate the sun's color. The Tanning Water is made with a tanning active that is derived from natural sugars called Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) that works to deepen your skin for a flawless, natural-looking tan. This product also contains Erythrulose, another tanning active. Our research has optimized the combination of Erythrulose and DHA so that they work together to enhance and deepen your natural skin color. Erythrulose and DHA provide deeper skin color through chemical reactions called the Maillard Reaction (interaction with amino acids in your skin). However, they deepen skin color at a different rate of change and to different skin colorations. Both are safe for consumers for topical use. DHA and Erythrulose develop a deeper skin tone over time that is long lasting.

Q: Will chlorine from a pool make this streak/splotchy? We are going to a hotel in a few weeks, and I'm unsightly pasty white... was wondering if I could use this? But will definitely be in the pool a bit with our toddler.

A: Hi StephSanvik! Great question. Prolonged swimming and time spent in water can definitely cause a sunless tan fade quicker. The best way to avoid fading, streakiness, and/or splotchiness from a pool is to apply your self tanner 2-3 days prior to being in the pool. A fully developed tan is more likely to fade evenly in the pool water. Be sure to thoroughly and evenly exfoliate the skin prior to applying the sunless tanner. And you can also apply moisturizer daily after your tan has developed to help maintain your tan! Hope this was helpful!

I purchased this in hopes it wouldn't stain my clothes or be orange or streaky due to its clear and foaming nature. I was wrong! It's all of those things. I applied it with the foam pad sold separately as instructed and still ended up an orange streaky mess. I look like Donald Trump. If you like sunless tanners, just buy the less expensive one because this one is literally the exact same thing.

I liked the product and the color. It lasted a couple of days before starting to wash off. The only thing I did not like, was the fact I could not see where and how much product I was Applying which causes certain areas to be darker than others and also can cause streaks. I use self tanners a lot so I was able to apply evenly without issues. Overall this is a good product but if you are trying to achieve quick and dark there are other products on the market can can give you great results in less than 2 hours at a good price point.

I was worried I might turn orange with this since I got the deepest tone, but I was left with nice, natural caramel color. Everything went on evenly. Jergens makes some great products such as lotions, body and face creams and also SOL which is medium tent Sunless Tanning water mousse. It's sun inspired without all the worrying about skin cancer or sun burns. It has a natural looking color within hours of applying. It's a tanning active derived from natural sugars. There is no orange color. It's a mild sun kissed look. You.can have a beautiful sun tanned look. I totally recommend it. It's the only self tanner that I completely recommend.

Fake tans are so hard for me. I am very pale so the shade of this tan was too dark. I lighter option would have been wonderful. The tan itself looked awesome on my arms but terrible on my legs. Do not use this product without the applicator mitt. I couldn’t imagine trying to apply it without the mitt.

i’m super pale and burn in the sun and it’s also super hard to tan for me so i bought this. it’s my first self tanner i ever bought and i love it! makes me glow and looks like i was just in the sun all day. sucks i can’t put it on my face though. that might be the only downside of it.

This is my go to self tanner in the winter, when I want some color but not look super dark. It doesn’t have an overpowering tanner scent. If you exfoliate and Moisturize well there is no streaking. This would be a great beginner self tanner to try as well.

This product doesn’t smell as weird as other fake tan products, and the color looks fairly natural, though I have cool undertones in my skin. It brought me up a few shades and looks glowy. I used the mitt to apply it straight after a shower and good dry off, using the mitt to buff it into my skin. Evidently, this was not the correct method because not leaving enough on the skin to be shiny made it very hard to track application and there were a few areas that got missed. I would not recommend doing this right before bed, not because it transfers to sheets (it doesn’t, and my sheets are white) but because if you’re a newbie like me sleeping means you miss the chance to wash it off at the first sign of funky development. Overall a nice product, just a learning curve, and with only using about 1/4 of the bottle I will be able to practice

I love the water moose tanners but this one is one of my favorites, it lasts for a long time and is a very natural color, not orange at all and the results come in a few hours
