Summary of reviews
The Starbucks Cold Brew Concentrate offers a convenient way to enjoy cold brew at home, with many guests appreciating its ease of use and flavor. However, some guests found the taste to be off or too weak compared to in-store options. The product's versatility in mixing with various creamers and syrups is a highlight, though the lack of caffeine content information is a common concern.

If you mix this with the Starbucks Carmel macchiato creamer instead of water and some ice you get an amazing tasting coffee better than getting a coffee actually at Starbucks!
Perfect coffee in 1 minute

I drink the cold brew coffee everyday and it’s the best way to start my day. A sip of it is ultra refreshing and extremely light when prepared according to instructions. Occasionally I will substitute milk.& some creamer instead of water. I always keep the coffee to mix ratio 1:1. Lately I’ve been making it with water and adding about two to four tablespoons of sweet and condensed milk (perfect Vietnamese coffee), just depends how much I’m drinking/sweetness desired. The convenience of being able to have an amazing coffee in as simple as opening the fridge and pouring is amazing.

Price point is great, concentrate is good product format, but taste and packaging is not it. Former partner who survived off of straight cold brew & every combo imaginable for over 5 years, and I was missing the ease of the taps for getting me my nectar of the gods when I was half-awake that I’d gotten used to in past couple years. Originally upon opening the bottle, it smelled just like Cold Brew Blend, and I thought it tasted similar, if not a little like proportions were weird or it was maybe a little old or something (I’ve been known to drink anything). But as I finished the bottle, I kept having this odd aftertaste, and I realized, it was honestly just gross! I wasn’t making it wrong or eating anything weird with it, I just straight up didn’t like it. It tasted off, kind of pithy, and almost like it had a burned/“notes of smokiness” to it, which I didn’t ever taste in Cold Brew Blend. I bought two bottles in a buy one get one, so if I figure out how to make it taste better, such as if it’s the plastic bottle somehow making the cold brew taste odd, then I’ll make note. However, this fell short for me and was not the experience I desired or was hoping for when buying a Starbucks cold brew.
Nice Idea, but the taste is Awful

I am trying to find a mid value coffee option for afternoons after a tasty but expensive Cometeer in the morning. This was on sale and it’s a big brand, so what could go wrong? It’s terrible, that’s what’s wrong. It has a decidedly grassy, barn-like flavor that I have to drown in creamer. I hate wasting food, so I’m choking it down, but I’ll never buy it again.

"Concentrate" is misleading

Not strong enough to be considered a concentrate. I don't even believe it is as strong as a normal cold brewed coffee. The lack of any information regarding the caffeine content is telling. I would not recommend this product. The iced/cold coffee is better and more worth your money if you're trying to avoid purchasing a $6/7 coffee from a Starbucks location. Those have about 3 servings each. They also go on sale every few months.

Not worth it to mix with water… blah & without flavor. Try this: 6 oz cold brew, 6 oz unsweetened almond milk, 1 T Splenda, swirl of Torani dark chocolate syrup over ice. Only 50 calories. Love it!

I’m absolutely addicted to this cold brew with half and half and 15 packets of Splenda but I have to admit that I love the sweet cream more than anything else I can’t even drink hot coffee anymore because it tastes so bad to me
Don't bother. Does not taste like cold brew.

Not even remotely close to the taste of Starbucks cold brew in-house. Extremely weak flavor, not worth the outrageous cost. It tastes better from the non-concentrate bottles

This does not smell or taste like coffee. There is ZERO coffee smell or taste. The Starbucks kcups are better. Even the cheap $1 Foldger instant coffee packs are better :p This is so disappointing : (
Good, but how much caffeine per serving?

This cold brew is great and helps save me a bit of money! I would like to know what the caffeine amount is per 6 oz, thank you!
1 reply from Starbucks Brand Ambassador team - 5 months ago
Great question, Mariah! There are 6.88mg - 7.92mg of caffeine per tablespoon of our concentrate. We hope this helps!

I work from home and convenient to mix with my favorite milk when home working. Very disappointed there is no description of caffeine per 1oz, 4oz or 6oz. This really should be a priority for company to list. I am spending too much time trying to figure this out and if can’t will no longer buy.

I think this is pretty good for what I need it for, which is to get me through training for my job. Now I’ve had the cold brew from Starbucks and I agree that it’s not nearly as strong as the one from Starbucks, which is why I took off a star. Now if you want it to be a tad stronger than what you’re tasting use 2:1 ratio rather than 1:1 ratio as stated on the instructions. For example if you use 1/2 cup of the concentrate use no more than 1/4 cup of water, instead of 1/4 cup of concentrate and 1/4 cup of water. In my honest opinion it tastes a little more watered down when using 1:1 ratio, 2:1 ratio works better and it’s a little stronger and mixes well with your creamer/ nut milk much better. I also add vanilla syrup to mine to cut the bitterness, but to each their own this is just a recommendation to those who said the taste was off putting or wasn’t strong enough. Try it this way before reviewing and see if it works. Overall it does what it needs to do in the morning and the taste is good.
Great taste!
