About the Book

Ever struggled with jealousy or comparing yourself to other women? Molly Galbraith can relate. In Strong Women Lift Each Other Up, the cofounder of Girls Gone Strong shares evidence-based, actionable strategies to help readers overcome comparison, and create a better life for themselves---and a world with more opportunity for women and girls.

Book Synopsis

"Molly Galbraith is collaborative, uplifting, and relentlessly authentic." -- Melissa Urban, Whole30 CEO, New York Times bestselling author

As women, many of us have false beliefs about who we are and what we must do to succeed, and these beliefs pit us against other women--holding us back from strength, success, empowerment, connection, and making the kind of difference we're here to make.

It's time for a change.

Strong Women Lift Each Other Up is an evidence-based, actionable guide to creating a better life for yourself and a better world with more opportunity for women and girls.

If you've ever . . .

  • struggled with jealousy or comparing your life or body to other women
  • wanted to support or believe in women, but felt like they're catty or tearing you down
  • felt like you're competing with other women for opportunities that are scarce
  • or felt like you were made for more than the life you're living now

. . . this book is for you.

Women are ready to stop the vicious cycle of criticizing, judging, gossiping, and comparing themselves.

We want to feel good in our own skin and know we're enough, just as we are.

By the end of this book, you won't walk into a room and size up other women. You'll walk in feeling like you don't have to compare yourself at all.

  • You'll radiate confidence from the inside out.
  • You'll chase your dreams without worrying what others think.
  • You'll lift other women up because you'll know there's enough success to go around.
  • You'll live a life filled with meaning and purpose.
  • And you'll know exactly who you are and be damn proud of it.

Change starts now. With this book--and with you.

There are very few books that I buy in hardcover. Even fewer that I buy in both hardcover and audio. Even fewer still that I buy in hardcover, audio, and extra copies of to give away to friends. I listened to the entire book within days of it being available on audio and have already restarted it. I knew I needed it in hardcover to follow along, do the exercises, take notes, and highlight, but I also LOVED listening to Molly read it and add in extra stories so I highly recommend buying the book and the audiobook. It was like Molly jumped inside my head and wrote about all the things I have only thought about my relationships with other strong women, thought and was too afraid to discuss and maybe even a little ashamed to think. This book contains so many messages I needed to hear and I know it is one I will be coming back to over and over and over again. Molly, thank you for writing this book.

Great Book for ALL women

I purchased this book at target on a Sat. morning and finished the book in a weekend. I know it’s one I will keep re-reading. I LOVE that the book connects my experiences and feelings with the “worksheet” pages. I also love that those pages are available for free as PDFs (the link is in the book) so that I can use it over and over or possibly pass along my book without my goals and writing inside. The book is written in a way that makes you feel like your best friend is talking to you, but also like your best friend is the most inspirational person you know. I plan to institute many of the principles of this book including “small things add up”- a more manageable goal than feeling like I need to change everything and change it a lot! I would recommend this book to all strong women that are looking to better themselves and the world around them. I plan to give this book to a couple more people that I know will benefit from it as well as institute the concepts in the high school nutrition and wellness classes I teach.

This is the book you will immediately want to gift to every woman in your life before you are even done reading it! Strong Women Lift Each Other Up is authentic, vulnerable, wildly relatable, and packed full of action steps that you can implement right away! I lost track of how many times I thought, "I wish I would have had this book to read when I was younger!" This is the book that every woman, young woman, and even teenage girl needs to read! There is no turning back; this book will spur you into action, and forever change the way you look at yourself, and other women, for the better!

Very much enjoyed this book! As women, we need to learn that we are here to SUPPORT each other and lift each other up — it’s not a competition. We can help each other and create space for more, for all of us, starting with ourselves! This book is so relatable and I think there’s something in here for just about everyone that can help with this message. It gives simple, actionable steps you can take to improve your own mindset, and also create a ripple effect that will impact others. I already find that personally, I am looking for more ways to have a deeper impact on the other women around me daily, looking for ways to compliment them in more impactful ways beyond the physical (and thinking about myself in similar ways), and standing up when something isn’t right. It’s time for us to rise up and be a team! I think this book will have such a positive effect on so many — get yourself a copy and you’ll be inspired to create positive change!

"Strong Women Lift Each Other Up" is a detailed guide for all those who identify as girls and women to help you dismantle various beliefs you may not even realize you have. From the "scarcity mindset" to jealousy to helping you hone in on your values, this book covers it all. Molly artfully balances personal anecdotes with evidence-based facts. Plus, at the end of every chapter, there are prompts to get you writing, thinking, and applying what she covers in actionable ways in your life. Not ten years from now, not tomorrow, but right now. Read this book to learn how to help make #StrongWomenLiftEachOtherUp more than just a hashtag.

A *MUST READ* for ALL Women!

You will see yourself in this book - in ways that are positive, as well as in ways that will show you that you can do better for yourself and others. Lucky for us, Molly has written this book to help you do exactly that in an incredibly approachable and impactful way. In this book, you'll read stories from Molly's life where she parses out the most important "to do's" to break down your own self-doubt, comparison, jealously, and scarcity mindset, and get incredibly solid in your values and your superpowers so that you can be part of the powerful ripple effect of lifting other women up. This book is equal parts relatable stories, helpful suggestions, and workbook aimed at lifting you up, and all the women you interact with as a result. I've been a part of Girls Gone Strong for the last six years, and in that period of time I have seen Molly walk the talk of being a strong woman lifting others up. Everything she's written in the book rings true to who she is, what she's about, and how she navigates the world. Molly is an incredible role model and believes that each of us are too. She's graciously showed us how we too, can lift each other up in powerful ways. (I received an early copy from the publishing team, and am so grateful!)

Excellent book - Molly makes herself vulnerable to readers, and gives a wide range of options for things you can do to start lifting up women in your life today. The thing I most appreciate about this book is the actions you can take, and how Molly comes at change that is not based on shame. She urges compassion *and* doing better, all the while letting you know that she has gone through the same journey she is showing you how to take.

A must read for ALL women! (And MEN that LOVE and care about women!)

"When women come together, collaborate with one another, have one another's backs, and support other women, we all win." Once I started reading this book, I didn't want to put it down. Molly has accomplished something with this book that has the potential to make REAL change. While reading "Strong Women Lift Each Other Up" I constantly found myself saying "Oh my gosh! This is so me!". A combination of storytelling and real life situations in which the reader can personally relate combined with doable action steps to take. One of the concepts that really hit home with me (and there were a lot) was the "ripple effect" in which Molly shows the readers how little actions done by one woman can make an impact on many. Molly walks the reader through changing your mindset and specific ways to lift other women up. Teachers, mentors, parents, business owners and high school/college students can all benefit from reading this book. Some of the self reflection that occurs while reading can really alter the way that women and girls perceive themselves and others in the world. The book has a companion resource guide that gives the reader a place to do the work which is a wonderful addition. I was lucky enough to read an early digital copy of this book. I didn't do any of the exercises while reading the first time but now that I have my hard copy, I'm reading it all over again and doing the exercises! I look forward to giving this book as a gift to many women and girls in my life and can’t wait to discuss this with them and make lasting change!

I 100% recommend this book! Molly has created a brilliant compilation of personal stories, quotes, and action steps to inspire each of us to step up and be the best version of ourselves. Her passion for making a difference and vision of changing the world are palpable. This book radiates authenticity and vulnerability, offering straightforward tasks and introspective questions for our own mindset evaluation and development, inviting impactful change from scarcity and competition to abundance and inclusion. For those of us who struggle with self-love and acceptance, feelings of inadequacy, or fear of judgment and criticism, this book not only reminds us that we are not alone, but cultivates a culture of community, strength, and empowerment. A must-read for women and girls everywhere!

Molly's book is accessible, inviting, and relatable. In my advanced copy of the book, I was heartened to hear my own voice in hers and see my own struggles reflected and acknowledged. She provides actionable items to improve your interactions both personal and interpersonal. I can't wait to read Molly's book again at different stages of life to continue to apply the lessons she provides.

Women Everywhere Need This Book

5 out of 5 stars
Michelle Codd - 4 years ago
I have been following Molly and Girls Gone Strong for a few years now. I have admired Molly from the moment I glanced at her Instagram page. She is strong in body, mind, language, positivity and inclusiveness. When I heard she was writing a book I knew I needed it my life. And she did not disappoint. This book needs to be read by women everywhere. Molly's description of "scarcity mindset" has opened my eyes to what my world has been like my whole life: competing with other women instead of celebrating them. When I read the quote "If we all take our candles and use them to light other woman's candles, together we can create a wildfire that blazes a new trail for future generations of women and girls." I got goosebumps. THIS is what the world needs more of. Molly not only brings this to light but also fills this book with exercises and calls to actions (my favourite being "Train the Brave") to change this scarcity mindset trap into a life filled with positivity and appreciation towards other women. This book will blow your mind and will definitely teach you exactly how you can lift other women up anywhere and everywhere, you can't get much better than that.

Mind Blowing

Caroly - 4 years ago
WOW! I had high expectations for this book, but it absolutely exceeded them all by far! The book is written in a way, that made me feel as if Molly was sitting across from me in my living room, telling me her story over a cup of coffee. On more than one occasion, I caught myself saying 'Oh My Goodness! Me too!' This book not only provides relatable stories from Molly's life, but also useful tools, to help you become aware of certain scenarios or situations & how to act/react in a way, that will make a positive impact /change in a person's life. It also allowed me to forgive the girl I was before & be proud of the woman I have become. If you are struggling with self-love, jealousy, not feeling good enough ot feeling that you are not doing enough... This book is for you! You will not be sorry!

You will see yourself in the pages of this book! This is a must read for any woman ready to end the comparison game and start living her best life. I really enjoyed Molly's style of writing; it felt like we were having a conversation. She shares lots of examples and situations from her own life that really help the concepts she shares come to life. Since reading the book, I find that my perspectives of other women and myself are shifting. Molly offers practical strategies for implementing the work needed to lift women up. As in... you can start following her suggestions TODAY and start noticing a difference TODAY!! She teaches you how to respond to situations when women's voices are not being heard. I feel better equipped to discuss topics like scarcity mindset, the comparison game, and body image. I have learned new (and better) ways to interact with women. I'm also working on accepting compliments at face value! Read this book, and then share it with your friends! We will all be so much better because of this book.

I loved the way Molly wrote this book to make you feel like you were in the room with her having a conversation. This book is so inspiring and every woman should read this. We could all show ourselves more kindness and grace and Molly’s book is all about that. Molly is so relatable and you’ll feel like you are talking to a long lost friend about tough topics. She pushes you to change the narrative in your head and help build others up.

So full disclosure before I write this review: I've been following Girls Gone Strong, an organization that Molly co-founded, for years. So I'm predisposed to like this book. That being said, the premise is right up my alley - I'm all for women's empowerment. I like that many chapters suggest small steps to take to get yourself into the mindset of lifting other women up instead of expecting you to dive in the deep end. In addition to interesting personal stories, Molly has also provided a workbook in most chapters so if you're like me - eager to put ideas into practice, but not sure where to start - you have something to guide you. Reading the stories and the actionable steps made me feel like I was talking to a like-minded person - almost being mentored. As a high school teacher, I'm particularly interested in putting these ideas into practice in my classroom and encouraging my students to do the same. I really think this book could be read and appreciated by all women, but I'm definitely going to be recommending it to colleagues and the teen girls in my life.

I cannot recommend this book enough! From poor body image to scarcity mindset to comparisons and jealousy, this book provides tangible ways you can change your attitude for the better. Small steps = big progress. Just the first 40 pages will change your viewpoint on life and the women surrounding you daily. Do yourself the favor, buy the book. Buy it for yourself, your sister, your best friend, your daughter. Molly is out to change the world, and we can help her do it, so let’s start the ripple effect in our own community and start lifting each other up!

This book made me feel seen. Somehow Molly was able to tap into all the thoughts that had swirled through my head over the years and allow me to know that this was normal - but that it didn't have to be the way forward. Her ability to relate using her own stories and those of other women makes the book feel more like a conversation with a good friend. The 'next steps' at the end of each chapter, along with the companion resources, made this the first self improvement book that I feel will actually make a huge difference in my life. I cannot wait to share this book with my friends and family because I want them to have the same positive momentum I have gained through reading this book. I highly recommend this for any woman, of any age, who wants to be better, do better, and encourage better because together we will make a difference.

Molly blew it out of the water with this book! Learning to build yourself to build other women! Champion for women without seeing them as competition! Praise and love yourself and the same for your women neighbors! Trust me - GO BUY THE BOOK! This isn't a "selfhelp" book - it has built in resources, relatable and real life situations. I bought it digital, but will be buying the physical book too! I want to highlight and take notes!
