Description
Have you ever ruined a meal because it was over cooked? The worst part is you used a thermometer but you just couldn’t see the readout properly! With the cost of food the way it is we just can’t afford to toss everything out – let alone spare the time from our busy schedules to cook something new. This Digital Thermometer with LED Readout by Taylor solves this problem! This is the first thermometer to ever use the superior technology of LED! No more dried out meat, no more finicky children, no more fights with your better half about your cooking skills! A brilliant red LED readout provides your temperature readout that’s easy to read from every angle and the ergonomic shape of the thermometer makes it easy to handle.
The Taylor Digital Thermometer with red LED Readout easily fits in the palm of your hand. The red LED display is one of the brightest displays currently on the market. The distinct red illuminated glow provides your temperature reading at a glance. The thermometer has a temperature range of -40F° to 450°F or -40°C to 232°C. The stainless steel probe has a step down tip (thinner at the end) that makes a smaller hole in your meat. This is important to keep your roast as moist as possible. A large hole made from a larger probe allows the natural juices from the meat to escape, drying out your main course. There are 3 buttons for use: ON/OFF, F°/C° (Fahrenheit or Celsius) and HOLD. That’s it! Hit the ON/OFF button to turn on the unit, choose Fahrenheit or Celsius, insert the probe and wait for the temperature reading to display. Hit the HOLD button so you can remove the thermometer from your meat and read the temperature outside the heat of the oven. The thermometer is NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) certified so it complies with all their standards for the quality, durability and cleanability of consumer products. 2 - CR2032 batteries included.
Helpful hints: Digital thermometers are not meant to be left in food during cooking. The plastic and electronic components could be damaged with excessive heat. To preserve battery life the digital display will dim after only a few seconds - it is still actively reading the temperature. Press any button to re-activate the display to see the current temperature.
WARNING: INGESTION HAZARD: This product contains button cell or coin battery

Q: Can I use this to check the temperature of hot frying oil?
submitted by Mary - 5 years ago
A: Thanks for your interest in Taylor Thermometers. The Taylor Super-Brite LED Digital Thermometer is not the thermometer to use for checking hot frying oil. We recommend the Taylor Candy/Deep Fry Thermometer with Temperature Guide which is also available at Target.

Q: is this thermometer meant for adult temperature?
submitted by rw - 5 years ago
A: The Taylor LED Digital Thermometer is for food temperatures only. This should not be used for body temperatures. If you have any others questions, please let us know.

Q: Can you leave this thermometer in the meat in the oven while it's cooking.
submitted by susan - 5 years ago
A: The Digital LED Thermometer should not go in meat in the oven. You would need to use a dial leave-in thermometer for that type of cooking.

Shuts off when taking temp. Have to leave it in your food for 30-45 seconds to read and then it still shuts off within a few seconds. It’s not worth the money, I’ve had cheaper thermometers for cooking/baking that have worked much better and faster (and if I can get a digital instant read thermometer for when the kids are sick for half the price, why can’t I get the same for baking?)
Worst thermometer ever!!

I bought this for my boyfriend and it stopped working after two uses. Would not recommend. Just buy the more expensive one, it’ll save you the money and frustration.

Made well. The light is nice and bright. It does however take longer than others to read a temperature.

Long "Instant" Read Time, Display Turns Off Too Soon, and No Water Resistance.

Does it read the temperature, yes. However, there are tons of thermometers out there and this is not a good one. First off, my biggest gripe is its claim of "instant-read" I don't know what the thermometer industry considers instant read, but I would think it's at most 3 seconds, preferably close to 0. But this thermometer's "instant-read" takes like 10 seconds to reach the real temperature. And this is where my second design flaw comes in. The display turns off after 15 seconds, to save battery I'm assuming. So imagine, turning it on, then temping your meat, and the display turns off while waiting for it to display the correct temperature. It's aggravating to have to wake the display back up so many times during a cooking session. Also, not water proof or resistant at all, so be very careful washing this.

It worked great 2 or 3 times but then the screen stopped working. I thought I needed to change the batteries but that didn’t change the problem at all. I definitely would not recommend unless you only plan to use it a couple times.
OK!

Works ok! The display times out to quick? The temp is instant but takes a while to reach final temp, display goes out before final temp is reach, then u need to hit button to display again? Not a big deal but could be better? Display is bright!

Would be 5 stars but: -1 for turning off too quickly -1 for it dieing too quickly because it can't handle a splash...which is odd since u have to wash the tip! You absolutely cannot get any water on the main body!

this thermometer turns off way to fast . When I am trying to temp the meat I am cooking it will turn off after only a few seconds . It is a pain to have to keep pulling it out and turn it back on over and over to get a good temp reading.

I wanted a digital thermometer that goes high enough so I can use it for candies, but this one turns off after only a few seconds, so I can't use it. Also, during cleaning, gets water under the plastic. May be helpful for others, but not good for me. Bummed.
