I bought this TV 10/11/22 and tonight 12/12/23 all of a sudden it went to a black screen. If I unplug it will flash TLC and back to black screen. What I am reading this is common and not a cheap/easy fix. Just over a year and need to buy another tv during the holidays!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my new TCL ROKU TV for two days, and the picture is great, sound is great, the amount of available channels and content is overwhelmingly huge, you could never go through it all. But, there is one BIG thing that detracts from this TV for me, and that is no numerical channel selection is available on the remote, no number pad to enter the channel you want. I contacted ROKU to see if there was any other remote that would work with this TV and there reply was that it is "SMART TV" and that smart TV's are made so that you scroll through the channels, that only "OLD" TV's had remotes with number pads on them. And, of course, this is wrong, many smart TV's still have remotes with number pads on them for channel selection, maybe not TCL TV's but many other brands still have them. Now, as I stated, the TV has a huge amount of content available on it, and I do like that and the other aspects of it, just not the remote control. There is a APP for your phone that also has controls for your TV, and it has a voice search, and you can use that to speak the channel number you want, but that is still not as convenient as being able to punch a channel number on the remote. Plus, with a numerical remote, they have a channel return, so you can switch back and forth between two channels, and I often like to track two programs on my TV and the channel return makes that so much easier. Just seems counterintuitive to me that a TV manufacturer would make a remote for their TV that would make you have to scroll through possibly hundreds of channels instead of letting you easily select specific channels quickly on a numerical pad.

Good picture for the price, great screen detail, easy setup, and fast responsive Roku operating system. Beautiful 4k rendering. For the price, this tv can't be beat. When my other competitor tv quits, it'll be replaced by tcl. This TV is perfect for cord cutting, with every major streaming service having apps for this TV. And Roku perhaps being the most popular streaming system out there, you get the full Roku experience without having to invest in a Roku Stick or streaming box. That by itself adds value to this TV. Tcl makes other models that cost a little more but likely have even better pictures. You should seriously look at TCL for your next TV.

We own 4 TCL tvs. I purchased this 65 inch back in October 2022. Remote stopped working August 2023. TCL says the tv is out of warranty period referred me to encompass who supplies their replacement parts. Called encompass and they wanted to charge me $20 for a new remote for a tv I have only had for 9 months. Love the tvs but customer services is not the best.

Backlight WILL go out in less than 5 years

It worked fine for the price until today. The backlight went out 3 years after purchasing it. It’s not worth it to replace it because it would be almost as much as it costs now on sale.

This particular TV was launched less than 1 year ago, so it is difficult to decipher what TV you may have. Our TVs are designed to give our customers years of entertainment and enjoyment. Our TVs do come with a 1-year parts and labor manufacturer's warranty for those rare times that defects occur. In cases like this, if you purchased an extended warranty, you may want to reach out to see if you can file a warranty claim through the extended warranty company. Furthermore, if you purchased using a credit card, some credit card companies also provide additional coverage. Horrible TV

I do not recommend this TV. Only have had for 2 months before the black light went out.
