In order to fit most underseat restrictions, we would recommend a backpack below 16 x 12 x 6 inches as this is the most common size restriction. I am backpacking Europe and I read and looked up so many bags and I went to the store and bought this bag and was super thrilled. packed and ready to go. NOW IM AT THE AIRPORT and NOT EVEN TWO HOURS INTO MY TRIP! the strap broke just snapped off my back. the back is not packed to the fullest I'm very upset and now trying to scramble to find another bag at the airport currently. wouldn't recommend to anyone traveling long distances for more than a week

Love, love, love this! Purchased for a family trip to Disneyland, where I wanted to have access to my hands through the airport and be able to help kids with their luggage. It was perfection! It holds a ton of stuff! I especially like the compartments inside and used them to separate shoes and outfits. It was nice to have the ease of a backpack with the packing capability of a suitcase. It was pricier than a similar style on sale, however I was 100% pleased with the quality and I expect it to last for a long time. No regrets!

I went into Target not needing anything at all and walked out with this amazing travel backpack/suitcase all in one. When I saw it, initially I thought it would be too big to fit under a seat on a plane but it fits just fine as long as you don’t overstuff it. I love how comfortable it is on my back. I used to use a small Herschel backpack and it was great but I needed something larger. I can take everything I need in one bag now. But when I go for longer trips or trips that require both warm & cold weather clothes, I usually opt for this to be my personal item along with a carry-on. I have found Delta to have the most room under the seats followed by American. Southwest seems to have the least amount of under seat room. They have a fleet of older planes but I flew on one of their new ones and the under seat room was decent. Overall love this and all the pockets.

I purchased this bag to use as a carry on, and it did not disappoint! I managed to fit 5 days worth of clothes, toiletries, a couple pairs of shoes, and a few extra items in the bag. Plus, it fit under the seat in front of me on the plane! Obviously this bag is big and will definitely get a bit heavy when you pack that much stuff into it, but it’s totally worth it. Such a high quality bag that I know I’ll use for years!

After using this backpack for 2 years, I can say its my favorite travel back I have ever had. I can easily fit a weeks worth of clothes and all my toiletries and accessories in it. I also pack a small day pack inside so I’m not lugging everything with me everywhere. I gets heavy when its full. I also use packing cubes and find everything very quickly. there is a very thin pocket in the back for my travel itinerary/papers. There is a small rfid protected pocket in the back that sits right on the small of your back when you’re wearing it like a backpack that fits all of my families passports (10!). There is a laptop pocket, and a space for it to fit over a suitcase handle. I love that opens up all the way in the middle like a suitcase. Its easy to get to everything. then still there are 2 more pockets to keep you organized. Its a dream of a backpack. Have never seen another like it. Thank you, Open Story for all the thought put into creating this.

I travel transatlantic with 2 children and a teenager a lot ! I have tried many bags I have a collection of them . This one I thought was a little expensive and target had a very similar one half the price but with out a bottle compartment ( very necessary ) Went for the expensive version and did not disappoint ! It does not kill my shoulders I don’t know how they did this . Big brands haven’t nailed comfort in my opinion . This is the perfect bag for free hands and great compartments ! I recommend !

***MUST HAVE FOR FREQUENT TRAVELERS*** I travel all the time including international trips and business trips, and I’ve never recommended a bag more to my friends and colleagues. This bag has the capacity of a small roller carry-on, with the dimensions and technology / capability to fit under your seat on a plane (yes it takes some shoving, but it does fit). This bag in combination with the Open Story roller Carry on case are a dynamic duo that can’t be beat. The side straps on this bag allow you to fill the bag to it’s capacity but still use the straps to help compress the bag down, so that it can fit under your seat on any airplane. The bag has multiple laptop / tablet pockets including ones that are padded and zipped for safety, as well as a Velcro quick-release pocket, if you want quick easy access when walking through security. I love that the front pocket has smaller individual organizational pockets to keep things like my keys / wallet etc. This bag in combination with the Open Story hard case carry on wheeled bag have turned an always checked-bag girl into a full time carry-on girl, I can easily fit a weeks worth of clothing / toiletries / shoes between the two bags combined and I don’t have to ever worry about a lost checked bag again. I love this bag so much I’ve purchased a second one as a backup just in case something happens to my first one and they discontinue making it. It’s seriously that good.

I was excited to find this backpack because I have been looking for something that would accommodate my 17.3" laptop. So far, even the backpacks that said they were for 17.3" were too tight. I figured this one, which claims to fit up to a 19" laptop, would be perfect. However, there is no possible way to fit my laptop in the padded compartment. I'll be returning the item first thing tomorrow. I gave it two stars because it is an attractive bag and I'm sure it would be great if I didn't need it to work for my laptop.

The traveler backpack has been great BUT the clips that hold the backpack portion to the bag have broken on both sides. I have lost the warrantee card and not really sure how to get this BP repaired. I will definitely call customer service for some guidance for sure.
