Description
Genus name comes from the Greek word Kanna meaning "reed". Cannas are among the most colorful summer bulbs with ruffled spikes tapering to refined buds, boasting immense paddle shaped leaves. Their great reedy canes and palmy foliage make for large, magnificent plants, yielding blooms all summer long for long lasting curb appeal. They are deer resistant and appear most dramatic when grouped in masses. They are fast growers with large flowers. Canna Tropicanna® Gold, Canna indica 'Mactro', is a variety known for its golden-yellow foliage. The large, broad leaves showcase a brilliant hue that ranges from golden yellow to creamy yellow, creating a captivating display of color. Tall stalks emerge from the foliage, adorned with clusters of vibrant blossoms. The blooms exhibit shades of orange, red, and yellow, creating a harmonious blend of warm tones that complement the golden foliage perfectly. The combination of golden leaves and colorful flowers ensures a captivating and eye-catching show throughout the growing season. A very versatile choice for tropical-themed garden and/or container settings.
