Red wines thrive in this glass. A large bowl and plenty of breathing room indulges the bouquet, letting it flourish. The rim is gently flared so the front of the palate has all the fun, while the balance of fruit flavors and acidity can be savored. Set of 4 red wine glasses from the Riedel Vivant collection. Each 8-7/8H" glass holds 12.63 oz. Crafted of lead-free Tyrol crystal. Hand wash.

As a wine industry professional, I try lots of different types of wine glasses and Riedel glasses typically set the bar for quality. However, these glasses are constructed with glued-on stems. The stem is joined to the b ...

Do a taste test and you will see, no matter what wine you serve, it will taste improved just by drinking it out of a Riedel. I didn't believe it either, until I did the taste test. Kudos to Target to sell a reasonably priced Riedel. They are delicate, and I do break them. I do not put them in the dishwasher.
I purchased these red wine glasses for my home and really feel like these are similar to the type you'd get at a classy restaurant. They are made of thin glass and have a very elegant feel to them. The price is very reasonable for such a decent set of wine glasses. I like them so much that I also purchased the red and white Reidel glasses for my cabin, too. I highly recommend these to any wine lovers who like to poor themselves a nice glass of wine in a "high end" type glass.
Husband, a red wine drinker, loves these glasses (I got for his birthday). He loves how they are weighted and the overall feel. Going to buy another set!
These glasses are beautiful, but incredibly fragile. We have owned these for only 3 months, and 3 of the 4 have already broken. One broke in the sink yesterday while being handwashed. It didn't hit anything, just had a washrag inside it, and the bowl of the glass shattered in my husband's hands.
I've had a set of eight of the red wine glasses for four years or so. I use them about once a week. Moved them from Florida to Michigan without a problem (but then I'm a monster when it comes to packing dishes and whatnot...). Unfortunately, I just broke the first one of the eight. My fault completely. I was washing it and allowed all the weight to settle on the lip between my thumb and fingers while it was horizontal. Yuck. I'm about to get four more to make sure I have enough around. The pric
e is excellent and the value about as good as it gets.
We got these wine glasses in October and in 5 months- 3 of the 4 glasses have broken. They are cheap and often break at the base or stem. We will have to go with a different wine glass to replace them because it is not worth buying these again.
We have used Riedel Vinum glasses for years (bordeaux). We've bought probably 10 boxes of 6 over the years. They are lovely, luxurious, and a joy to drink from. Why have we bought so many? Because they break very, very easily--seriously--if you look at one the wrong way it cracks. When we bought a second home and were stocking it, we got these glasses at Target and the durability, compared to the Vinums, is much better. We've never had to replace even one.You can definitely tell the difference b
etween the two--the Vinums are larger and have a thinner lip. They feel finer in your hand and they are definitely more pleasurable to drink out of. However, the Vivant is still a nice glass and you can't beat it for durability.
I know that red wine glasses are SUPPOSED to be larger than white ones, but these are a little over the top. I really recommend buying all white wine glasses and serving red wine in them too...but then again, I'm not an expert, nor am I a wine connaisseur.Otherwise, I really like these glasses. They can be dressed down or dressed up, and they look elegant either way.
