Q: Has anyone used this grinder past the manufacturer's 18 month warranty period?

submitted by Daya - 2 years ago
  • A: Yes. Will require cleaning. The hopper rotates off. Good to brush clean and force air (blow vigorously) through the passages to remove fine particles which seem to clog the switch mechanism.

submitted byCheapGuy - 1 year ago
  • A: Yes, I've had it and use it a lot every day, past the 18 month mark and still works great. Have to clean it so it doesn't get clogged. Still works great,

Q: How many volt is this coffee grinder? Will it work in eroupe ?

submitted by Danaz - 9 years ago
  • A: I don't know how many volts but I don't believe it will work in Europe without an adapter.

submitted byjmn - 9 years ago
  • A: It is 120 volts. I don't think it will work in Europe.

submitted byRomeo Oscar - 9 years ago
  • A: with a voltage converter you could use it in Europe

submitted byAF - 1 year ago
  • A: It is 120v. There are voltage converters for appliances but I personally would buy the appliance in the country you're moving to.

  • A: The grind is fairly inconsistent and you will get a lot of fines.

submitted byThe Answer Man - 2 years ago
  • A: All of the settings on this grinder make "Fine" grounds. The coarse setting makes medium find grounds. If you want coarse grinds -- look elsewhere. I am very disappointed in this machine.

Q: Does anyone know if this grinder grind coffee beans beyond the espresso size to the dust powder extra fine size needed to prepare like Turkish coffee or so?

submitted by Ptl - 7 years ago
  • A: Yes, there is an extra fine setting for Turkish coffee.

submitted byRadiofan - 5 years ago
  • A: It does several different textures.

    submitted byGinaB2323 - 6 years ago

Q: Can you grind spices in this?

submitted by JA - 8 years ago
  • A: You could, but it wouldn't be easy to clean a specific spice out of it. I wouldn't use it for that purpose.

submitted byTCook - 8 years ago
  • A: Yes, I suppose you could. It would be a little over powered for just regular kitchen use and much more work to clean out between spices. I use a small inexpensive grinder for spices, they usually are around $10.

Q: Just bought grinder. It grinds coffee really slow. Is this normal?

submitted by Sandcrab3 - 8 years ago
  • A: The setting in front is for the approximate number of cups of brewed coffee in ground coffee needed. The top setting is for how fine a grind you want. The finer the grind the slower it will grind because it brings the blades closer together. A more uniform grind speed can be achieved by keeping the bean hopper full so it always puts downward pressure on the beans to enter the grinding chamber. All that being said it should grind the beans at the same rate as any other comparable grinder. I've had mine for over a year and find it to be the best grinder for under $100. Hope that helps!

    submitted byPhil C - 8 years ago
  • A: You don't really want a grinder that is too fast. It builds up heat due to the speed and that can effect your beans.

submitted byclf - 8 years ago

Q: I just bought this grinder. There is a mark on the dial that selects Fine/Medium/Course. Is it supposed to be screwed all the way in so mark is about 9 o'clock or is it supposed to face you.

submitted by Sandcrab3 - 8 years ago
  • A: True the white line is your guide to the type of grind you want. Align with the dots on your grinder. Good luck.

submitted byNailima - 8 years ago
  • A: The white line indicates the desired grind. it varies from fine to coarse. just twist to the the dotted marks depending on how you want it ground. most coffee makers you would use the medium setting and fine form more espresso applications.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The grinder makes a normal level of noise and it has good adjustments for the level of grind desired. Transferring the ground coffee from the receptacle to coffee maker or storage container is a bit messy. For the price and the quality of the grind, I would recommend this product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This grinder is replacing the grinder I’ve been using that up and died on me . My grand daughter works at a coffe shop and gives me thier old beans they can’t use in the shop. My grinder couldn’t keep up. This grinder is so nice. It’s quiet, has a nice container that collects the coffee grounds and holds a large amount of beans in the grinder. I’m very happy with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this because my last grinder broke. I surely wish I would've known about this one much sooner. This thing rocks TOTALLY. Not as loud as by older one, but much, much smoother in grinding coffee much better. I really like the multiple adjustments to select which type of grind you care for. I am so thrilled with the functionality of this grinder. WAY TO GO CUISINART!!

I can’t say if I actually liked it. I did an on line order and got it home and the item has been used. Some parts look new while others do not. So I don’t know if someone bought a new one to swap parts out of it or what. But they left coffee grounds in it as well as an entire coffee bean. I knew something was off when the electric cord did not have a twisty tie on it. I am returning it because I don’t know if it will malfunction at some point.

I find this simple to use and clean. Ive bought my third one. One lasted about 3 years of 4X a week use. The second was on year 2 but doesn’t survive a drop of 4 feet to the floor. Giving it a good clean every once in a while solves most problems with clumping and grind issues. (It’s time well spent). The grind is good. I’ve seen better but on 2 others. Ive seen those required more cleaning to work well. This was a good value.

This is the second Cuisinart Burr Grinder I've had. (The first was lost about 20 years ago after a hurricane.) When I decided to switch back to whole beans, I tried a small blade grinder but it just wasn't working. The first burr grinder to come to mind was the Cusinart. Took a day to dial in the grind I needed for the number of cups I wanted using a pour over coffee maker instead of a single cup machine, but I like it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very disappointed with this grinder. I have an older grinder and while it worked the grind chamber fell apart and was very pricey to replace. The new machine didn’t adjust the size of the grind. And I had to set it to twice as many cups just the get the right amount of grinds. Needless to say it was returned. I bit the bullet and ordered a new chamber for my old machine.

With that said, it works, grind is pretty consistent and you can't beat the price. If you want perfect, spend 10X more and get a professional style unit otherwise this will get the job done

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a handsome machine, and it does grind coffee to the desired fineness. However, it has a couple of quirks I don’t like. I use the 13th of 18 possible grind settings, for my Chemex brewer. I put only the amount of coffee that I am actually going to use into the hopper. Even though I set the slide dial on the highest number, the machine does not grind all the beans before shutting off, and I have to restart it to finish up. And then, the last few beans get thrown out of the grinding chamber back into the hopper and bounce around a bit before they eventually get caught and ground. Frankly, I wonder if the person [or committee?] who wrote the “Grinding Times” section of the instructions has actually used the machine? The implication is that the machine measures the amount of coffee ground. It does not, it simply has a timer, full stop, and from my POV that is not only useless, but frustrating. In operation, the machine is very, very loud. I can give this appliance only a bare recommendation based on the fact that it does work, with the drawbacks noted above.

The one thing I found is that the amount of coffee ground per cup is off a bit in my opinion. For a 10 cup pot I find I have to grind the amount for 12 cups. It was a bit weak in my opinion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this grinder to replace the same model that I had for years because it’s cheap, fits well under the cabinet, and the variable grind settings allows fine tuning for the most preferred flavor. I had to replace it because the grind amount selection slide mechanism no longer controlled how much coffee was ground. Usually it would grind too much.
