Q: Has anyone used this grinder past the manufacturer's 18 month warranty period?

submitted by Daya - 2 years ago
  • A: Yes, I've had it and use it a lot every day, past the 18 month mark and still works great. Have to clean it so it doesn't get clogged. Still works great,

  • A: Yes. Will require cleaning. The hopper rotates off. Good to brush clean and force air (blow vigorously) through the passages to remove fine particles which seem to clog the switch mechanism.

  • A: Yes- after 18 months the grinder broke. It has been cleaned and will not grind beans any longer

Q: Is it good for coarse cold brew grind?

submitted by Ariel - 5 years ago
  • A: All of the settings on this grinder make "Fine" grounds. The coarse setting makes medium find grounds. If you want coarse grinds -- look elsewhere. I am very disappointed in this machine.

submitted bymenton - 11 months ago
  • A: The grind is fairly inconsistent and you will get a lot of fines.

Q: Does anyone know if this grinder grind coffee beans beyond the espresso size to the dust powder extra fine size needed to prepare like Turkish coffee or so?

submitted by Ptl - 8 years ago
  • A: Yes, there is an extra fine setting for Turkish coffee.

submitted byRadiofan - 5 years ago
  • A: It does several different textures.

    submitted byGinaB2323 - 6 years ago

Q: Can you grind spices in this?

submitted by JA - 8 years ago
  • A: Yes, I suppose you could. It would be a little over powered for just regular kitchen use and much more work to clean out between spices. I use a small inexpensive grinder for spices, they usually are around $10.

submitted byclf - 8 years ago
  • A: You could, but it wouldn't be easy to clean a specific spice out of it. I wouldn't use it for that purpose.

submitted byTCook - 8 years ago

Q: Just bought grinder. It grinds coffee really slow. Is this normal?

submitted by Sandcrab3 - 8 years ago
  • A: The setting in front is for the approximate number of cups of brewed coffee in ground coffee needed. The top setting is for how fine a grind you want. The finer the grind the slower it will grind because it brings the blades closer together. A more uniform grind speed can be achieved by keeping the bean hopper full so it always puts downward pressure on the beans to enter the grinding chamber. All that being said it should grind the beans at the same rate as any other comparable grinder. I've had mine for over a year and find it to be the best grinder for under $100. Hope that helps!

    submitted byPhil C - 8 years ago
  • A: You don't really want a grinder that is too fast. It builds up heat due to the speed and that can effect your beans.

submitted byclf - 8 years ago

Q: I just bought this grinder. There is a mark on the dial that selects Fine/Medium/Course. Is it supposed to be screwed all the way in so mark is about 9 o'clock or is it supposed to face you.

submitted by Sandcrab3 - 8 years ago
  • A: True the white line is your guide to the type of grind you want. Align with the dots on your grinder. Good luck.

submitted byNailima - 8 years ago
  • A: The white line indicates the desired grind. it varies from fine to coarse. just twist to the the dotted marks depending on how you want it ground. most coffee makers you would use the medium setting and fine form more espresso applications.

I purchased this because the same one I've had for 6 years I had taken to work to use. I then bought a different brand coffee grinder for home. After months of trying to adjust the coarseness of the grind, I could never achieve the same bloom that I can at work when doing my morning pour-over cup. Once I purchased another one of these Cuisinart grinders for home, the bloom was back! This grinder makes the best pour-over cup of coffee.

I hate this coffee grinder so much. Not sure if we got one that's defective or what, but the grinder slips and it doesn't feed through the appropriate amount of beans. Yes, I know I could weigh them and then add them to the hopper, but that's kind of the point of having preset servings.

This burr grinder is easy to use. It comes with an adjustable bean grind from fine to coarse for a variety of coffee brewing methods. The quantity of grind is also adjustable from four cups all the way to twelve cups of brewed coffee. This burr grinder comes with a large hopper for loading the coffee beans for use. The grinder also come with ground coffee hopper to catch the ground coffee beans. This burr grinder come with more than adequate power cord length which the unused cord can be stored underneath the grinder base. The style and stainless color matches my Cuisinart coffee machine perfectly. It is a bit noisy while grinding but that only for a sort duration.

I’m very confused by the design of this grinder. While grinding coffee beans, it gets EVERYWHERE. I don’t know if we’re missing a piece or what is happening, but there is a significant gap where the container that catches the coffee grinds is. Most of the grinds come flying out and everywhere and is very wasteful. I am not impressed with it at all and honestly pretty disappointed. I was super excited when we got it.

I’ve had the Cuisinart Supreme Grind Automatic Burr Mill for about a month now, and it’s been a great addition to my coffee setup. I was using a blade grinder before this, and the difference in grind consistency is night and day. It’s super easy to use — just choose the grind size and how many cups you want, press a button, and it does the rest. I’ve mostly used it for drip and French press, and the grind settings have worked really well for both. I love that it shuts off automatically when it’s done. The design is sleek and doesn’t take up too much space on my counter. It’s a bit loud, but honestly, not any louder than I expected. Cleanup is simple, and I like that the ground coffee container is easy to remove and doesn’t make a mess. Overall, it’s been a solid grinder so far, and I feel like I’m getting great value for the price. Definitely glad I made the switch!

This is our third Cuisinart grinder. The first 1 lasted under 1 year. The second one worked great for about 5 years. The newest grinder we bought barely grinds any coffee. It produces about half the grounds from our last grinder. The motor has a high pitch sound with little to show for it. Something is definitely wrong with this grinder. I WOULD NOT recommend getting this cuisinart grinder. Too unreliable. We will be returning ASAP

The very first Cuisinart coffee grinder I purchased lasted for 9 year and was fabulous. However, this new grinder leaves much to be desired. First off, the beans do not flow through the grinder, you have to continually shake the machine while grinding to get the beans to drop to the burr. I will look at taking out the motor from the old and replacing with the motor in the new one. The old grinder motor just died. There is something about the ne one that the beans don’t flow through to the burr grinder. I use the exact same brand coffee I have always used, all Costa Rican Tarrazu Coffee, been drinking it for 15 years!

We enjoy our coffee and using our grinder is why we love it. With the perfect settings, and the features we enjoy, we use our grinder at least once every morning to brew our finest cups of mirning joe. Weve owned an earlier model for several years (6+) and it finally died so we stayed with the quality we have come know in Cuisinart and purchased this model. We noticed this.model is a bit quieter than our previous one, which is a nice bonus. Keep up the great work and well keep on grinding!

    Plastic burrs in grinder

The first time I used this I wondered why it took almost twice as long to grind beans as my previous (non-Cusinart) burr grinder. After I finished I was VERY surprised to see a plastic grinder. Not only is the grinding part plastic, the teeth are very shallow compared to others. I do not expect this grinder to last 1 year.. in fact I’d be shocked if it did. Although the price was only about 2/3 rds of my previous grinder it grinded twice as fast was quieter. It ‘broke’ because in cleaning it I jammed up the burr mechanism and could not get it apart. When this Cusinart dies… I will do much more research - specifically looking for metal burrs.

Operation is smooth and I love that you just start the grinding and then it automatically finishes the cycle (you don't need to hold down the button the whole time). The design is sleek with the black and brushed chrome - it looks great on the counter. A bit more expensive than other grinders, but worth it for quality and performance.

Should have gone with another brand. The noise this thing makes ruins your morning. It is high pitched, sharp, inconsistent noise that drills into your head like nails on a chalkboard. Awful. I've skipped coffee to avoid using it. This is not the way. My Boly burr grinder this is replacing had a low, pleasant humm as it ground coffee. This Cuisinart is almost double the price. True example that higher price isn't better quality. It also seems to build up more static than expected, causing ground coffee to spill into my counter every time I open the tray, no matter what I do. But honestly, it could literally fling coffee at my face if it would just grind coffee without the awful, awful noise. Like they tuned the noise to cause you pain. It's been a month or so, and I can't do it. I'm tossing this in the trash, buying a Boly.
