Q: I saw a bad review saying this will not hold liquids, has anyone else had this issue?

submitted by wlace1026 - 9 years ago
  • A: Mine works great!

submitted byB - 9 years ago
  • A: The unit will hold liquids. The container has a max liquid line marked (which is less then the full capacity) to alert users of the liquid capacity.

submitted byHamiltonBeachTeam - 5 years ago

  • A: I wouldn't put hot liquids in this processor. The container is a hard plastic material. I use my blender for hot materials because its a glass container. This processor works great for what I use it for, mostly dips.

submitted byJames - 9 years ago
  • A: That's curious. Unless either the bowl was cracked or the level over the center area where the blade shaft is, don't expect it. I've not had any problems. So far, have been thrilled with its performance, and the built-in scraper is real handy.

Q: Would this be suitable to make smoothies and to make nut butters?

submitted by Luisa - 9 years ago
  • A: I would say yes to nut butters, but not smoothies. For those, you'd need a blender, either one like the old Osters (e.g. the beehive) or a Magic Bullet/Ninja style. For either of your needs, depending on how much of the nut butters, I use a Bella brand that's similar to the Magic Bullet, cheaper. Its downside is that the base with the blades that stick up some leaks where it spins a little. For "standard" food processor tasks, that Hamilton Beach rocks. The scraper is a brilliant idea, saves having to open to do that.

submitted byThe Bryce - 9 years ago
  • A: Yes. :)

submitted byJames - 9 years ago
  • A: This product is suitable and makes great nut butters. Smoothie performance would depend on the recipe and quantity you are looking to make.

Q: Will this be able to liquify my hot sauces?

submitted by Todd - 5 years ago

Q: Is it dishwasher safe?

submitted by Karen - 5 years ago

Q: Will it prepare flour and butter to granular consistency for pie dough?

submitted by DebD - 5 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your question. This food processor is excellent to chop, mix, slice, or shred most foods. However, to maintain peak performance, do not use your food processor for the following: grinding grain, coffee beans, or spices; slicing frozen meats; kneading dough; or crushing ice.

    Attractive, efficient, slim food processor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I enjoyed many things about the Hamilton Bowl Scraper Food Processor, including its attractive profile. The processor is slim and takes up minimal space, despite holding ten cups of food. I used the processor to chop vegetables, including onions and mushrooms. It did a fine job, with some unevenness in size of the chopped vegetables. It also was able to whip up tofu into a creamy spread. The processor has two speeds, plus the pulse, which was nice; it was little loud. I did not have a chance yet to use the grater/slicer and am looking forward to trying that. The bowl scraper was an added bonus, and although it does not reach down to the very bottom of the bowl, there was no need for me to continually open the top to scrap down the sides of the bowl.

    Food Scraper!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has a large capacity (10 cups) and a like the bowl scraper more than I thought I would. Even though the handle doesn't go all the way around (the chute is in the way) the "blades" of the bowl scraper do go 360 around the whole bowl. Super convenient. Comes with 2 different blades (which lets you get a variety of different cuts) and it is super easy to put together right out of the box. Pretty easy to clean by hand, but also dishwasher safe! So that makes it easier.

Great Addition to a Cook's Kitchen

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I already had a Hamilton Beach processor for years but coveted one with a scraper. I thought it would keep me from having to open the top and scrape down the sides with a spatula. I unpacked my new Hamilton Beach 10-Cup Food Processor with Bowl Scraper from its ample packaging. The base is a bit taller than my old processor, but round instead of square. The bowl, blender blade, and metal slicer plate are all unchanged from the original. The first thing I noticed was that I couldn’t store the multiple parts compactly. I immediately read the manual. According to the instructions I was supposed to set that sharp slicer on top of the blender with the totally harmless plastic scraper stored inside. The mechanism that controls the scraper arms prevented me from storing the extremely sharp, metal slicer plate inside the blender like I did with my previous model. REALLY?? I ended up keeping the slicer inside and stacking the scraper upside down on top of the blender. Ridiculous! I used the machine for the first time to make my buttermilk biscuit dough. I was so excited to dump all the ingredients into the bowl with the blender blade and new scraper. I locked the lid and turned it on. I noted that it is a bit quieter than my old blender. The dough started to come together nicely but there was quite a bit of flour hanging out at the top of the mixture, so I turned the scraper back and forth only to find the scraper arms don’t reach all the way to the bottom of the sides of the bowl! I was stunned! What good are scraper arms on the side of the container that don’t reach all the way down? Needless to say, I was beyond disappointed. Who designed this thing? Definitely not someone who cooks. Long story, short: The food processor is a strong and faithful addition to any kitchen. However, I would not suggest going out and buying this model if all you want is the scraper arm.

    Does lots of tasks!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This powerful food processor with bowl scraper can do it all. So far I grated carrots and shredded cheese. I was able to shred a 1.5 lb block of cheese in less than 30 seconds. My only complaint is that it does not stack up well for storage while not in use. The manual shows that it does but when you add the shred/grate blade attachment it is not stable.

    Great family size processor.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first use of the processor was to shred some cheese. The first thing I noticed was that this was much more powerful than my previous processor. Cheese shredded easy and much more thorough than the attachment for my stand mixer. Slicing veggies was a quick job with less wasted pieces than my older processor. I also tested it to mince some beef, the scraper really was helpful to move the meat away from the edges for more thorough mincing. I like that this one has a pulse and also 2 speeds.

    It works really well!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm happy with this food processor. I made my chimichurry in seconds. All the hebrs chopped well. One of the features that I like is the motor stays in place because of the suction cups. Also, the cable can be stored inside the motor area. I have to try the disc to shredded. This processor is really a time saver.

Good food processor but some flaws

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hamilton Beach food processor has some nice features. but also has some flaws. First of all, I was happy to see a manual included in the box. Looking on the internet for manuals that are not included with the product can be time consuming and frustrating. I like the fact that the shred blade and slice blade is one blade. Both sides were sharp and made quick work of the task. The chopping/slicing blade also did a nice job. The downside was the amount of unprocessed food. There were unprocessed vegetables on top of the slicing, shredding blade because of the space over the blade and below the lid. Also, when mixing salmon cakes, the egg and some of the other ingredients did not mix in as they were under the blade and made no contact with the mix blade. The bowl scraper is a great idea, but it does not reach food on the bottom of the bowl. The fact the all parts stack in one place is great. The only downside is that the shed/slice blade is exposed in the top. I saved the carboard wheel that the blade can packed in and slide the blade in before placing on top of the unit for storage. A vinyl sleeve to slip the blade in before placing on top of unit would have been a nice addition.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall this food processor gets the job done quick...it has a dial with high, low, & pulse...so you have to manually turn the dial...i used it to make guacamole and the processor comes with a bowl scraper which is a nice accessory to scrap the food away from the side...it also has a double sided shredder...this proccessor is great and it cleans up easy...

    Wonderful Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hamilton Beach 10-Cup Food Processor with Bowl Scraper worked very well, is easy to use & lightweight. It took me a little bit to figure out how to get the lid on. Once I did, it all clicked into place. I appreciated the suction cups on the bottom to hold it in place. The first thing I made was chocolate hazelnut spread. It did a great job blending the hazelnuts to a smooth, creamy consistency. Once the nuts started clinging to the sides, I just used the bowl scraper & didn’t have to stop, remove the lid & scrape with a spatula. What a time saver. The large feed chute was nice when it was time to add the liquid. I could just add it as the food processor was running. So convenient. I also made “ice cream” with frozen bananas. The blades blended the bananas to such a creamy texture, it was like eating real creamy ice cream. I am very happy with my new food processor!

    MAKING SALAD CHOPPING EASY

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Machine should have a cord about a 12” longer. As for the lid, on the underside of the lid where the intake chute joins the lid there is a very small space that food gets stuck in. You will need a knife or other pointed object to clean out stuck food. The chute should be one molded piece with the lid and no small space, that way you do not have to use something pointed to clean it. The chopping blade works great. I used the chopping blade and the shredding blade and both work great. I chopped my salad and shredded cheese. The machine does an excellent job. What I also like about this machine are the suction cups for feet. Your machine does not move while in use. I like the idea of having only one blade, one for shredding and flipping it over it will slice so you do not have to switch out blades. I used the scraper attachment and it cleaned the sides so I did not waste food. I used the pulse switch and the “on” switch. The “on” switch for shredding cheese and the pulse switch for chopping my salad. Both work great.

    Bye spatulas

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is pretty standard food processor as far as plastic dish, simple button operation, two separate blades, but the game changer is the scraping tool. I love the fact I don't have to hunt down a spatula and twist my arm trying to get all the bits stuck to the walls. The machine feels solid during regular household use, motor strong.
