Q: I saw a bad review saying this will not hold liquids, has anyone else had this issue?
A: Mine works great!
submitted byB - 9 years agoA: The unit will hold liquids. The container has a max liquid line marked (which is less then the full capacity) to alert users of the liquid capacity.
submitted byHamiltonBeachTeam - 5 years agoBrand expertA: I wouldn't put hot liquids in this processor. The container is a hard plastic material. I use my blender for hot materials because its a glass container. This processor works great for what I use it for, mostly dips.
submitted byJames - 9 years agoA: That's curious. Unless either the bowl was cracked or the level over the center area where the blade shaft is, don't expect it. I've not had any problems. So far, have been thrilled with its performance, and the built-in scraper is real handy.

Q: Would this be suitable to make smoothies and to make nut butters?
A: I would say yes to nut butters, but not smoothies. For those, you'd need a blender, either one like the old Osters (e.g. the beehive) or a Magic Bullet/Ninja style. For either of your needs, depending on how much of the nut butters, I use a Bella brand that's similar to the Magic Bullet, cheaper. Its downside is that the base with the blades that stick up some leaks where it spins a little. For "standard" food processor tasks, that Hamilton Beach rocks. The scraper is a brilliant idea, saves having to open to do that.
submitted byThe Bryce - 9 years agoA: Yes. :)
submitted byJames - 9 years agoA: This product is suitable and makes great nut butters. Smoothie performance would depend on the recipe and quantity you are looking to make.

Q: Will it prepare flour and butter to granular consistency for pie dough?
A: Thank you for your question. This food processor is excellent to chop, mix, slice, or shred most foods. However, to maintain peak performance, do not use your food processor for the following: grinding grain, coffee beans, or spices; slicing frozen meats; kneading dough; or crushing ice.
