Q: How many strips are needed to hold large diploma frames? One is 6lbs and the other is 9lbs so the weight limit is within range but does it require 2 strips on each side or just one?

A: Hello - Thank you for asking. This will depend on the size of the frames as well as the weight. The Medium Picture Hanging Strips can be used for frames that are up to 18" x 24" in size. For frames less than 6 lbs, two sets of adhesives are required. For frames that weight more than 6 lbs up to the maximum weight of 12 lbs, 4 sets of adhesives are required. I followed the normal rules for command strips, stick on the surface, let sit for 1 hr plus, the tried to attach the other Velcro piece to it and the tiny curtain rod I was using it for, and the Velcro held but the sticky came right off the surface. I tried again letting the sticky sit all night and the same thing happened.

I used FOUR strips on this 3 lb lightweight mirror. 2 strips that according to 3M should hold 15 lbs each, and 2 strips that should hold 10 lbs each. A total of 50 lbs maximum capacity and 3 lbs brought it crashing down into pieces (that's what's inside of the box pictured next to the frame, all the shattered glass)....just 3 days after hanging. How do you explain that? 3M, a full refund and replacement cost of mirror is in order!

Love these. Use them to hang all the photos and art in my house. The only thing is that after you take them down a couple times you need to replace the strips or they don’t hold it to the wall.

I used command strips to create 2 large collage walls of picture frames. We are moving and i went to take down the frames. Every single strip pulled paint and parts of sheet rock down.

If I could give 0 stars I would! Used three pairs to be extra safe to hold up a 16x20 frame that was plastic frame with plexi glass front-very light weight. Fell off my wall and broke my frame into pieces. It’s not as sticky as regular 3m strips. Highly disappointed and wish I could get my money back!

These don’t work. Following directions, I tried for a framed artwork 14x14. It did not hold. And you rip the sticker off the wall trying to separate the Velcro when trying to remove. The velcro is stronger than the adhesive.

If you're looking for something that will help you hang pictures on your walls, this is not the product you are looking for. Stay away. The adhesive is weak at its best, and even when you follow instructions, some strips won't stick to the wall at all, or it'll stick, only to have your picture frames to fall in the middle of the night. Poor quality, poor product. You get what you pay for.
