Q: Can this run the sims 4?!

  • A: The base graphics processor of Core i3 is capable of running The Sims 4, but at very low graphics settings (I've used worse). Good performance is not guaranteed. TeamAcer is also correct re: Windows.

  • A: Not with S mode. You will have to opt out of S mode in order to install non-Microsoft apps. Instructions are easily found by doing an internet search on how to opt out of Windows 11 S mode. We also recommend you check that the laptop specs meet or exceed the game requirements.

It worked ok initially but from the start, it gets really hot really fast charger and laptop- much more hot and much faster than my old laptops). I'm careful where I keep it when it's charging so there isn't a fire risk. Also, had it for two years but now keyboard isn't working. I don't use it that frequently so I'm surprised. Otherwise no complaints

Decent Budget Friendly Laptop

I purchased this laptop as I needed a Windows Laptop for work as my primary laptop was a MacBook. This was my first experience with an Acer laptop and I do not plan on purchasing another laptop with this brand. I was fortunate to purchase it during a sale and I wouldn't pay a higher price for it. It has an annoying clicking sound when you have your laptop sitting at an angle on your lap. After reviewing other customer reviews, this appears to be a common issue. If you're looking a budget friendly laptop with a larger screen, this is a good starter option. However, the clicking noise will drive you nuts for long term use.

I bought this laptop for my son’s birthday 2.5 months ago and already it won’t turn on. It appears to be the charger that isn’t working. Very frustrating as this computer was expensive and shouldn’t have any issues as it’s brand new.

A disappointment

For the first six months, I loved this laptop. Then the tip of my charger broke off in the charging port, because the laptop has a needle-thin charger. I sent it in for repair, and when I got my laptop back, it was unbearably laggy. After suffering for several months, I sent it back to Acer for repair. After a month long delay due to FedEx, I received my "repaired" laptop, only to find that it was just as laggy as before. I guess the moral of the story is that you get what you pay for. Less than a year, and my Acer laptop is just as laggy as my several years old Dell laptop. Do yourself a favor and buy a better budget laptop.

Stopped working in two hours

Ordered online and picked up this afternoon. Set-up was quick and easy. Browsing was fast; everything worked well - until it didn't. The second time (two hours after purchase) I logged on and the screen went to a blank gray color and nothing could be done. No cursor, no menu, nothing. I called acer and their support team tried about a dozen fixes and none worked. I returned it to Target later today.

6 months later Keypad doesn't work

I bought this in December, I use the laptop no more than twice a week. Its been a month now since the keypad stopped working. The only way to use it now is using a mouse. They keyboard sometimes doesn't respond. This laptop is always in a protective sleeve whenever its not in use. IT hasn't been dropped, its never been exposed to water. I don't understand why it would stop working. Anyway, other than the major issues. The laptop was alright, for what you pay for. I would say invest in another laptop that will last longer than 6 months.
