With the cap tightly closed, shake the container before you use it to allow the tiny balls inside the formula to do their job of mixing things up. To draw a fine line, press lightly. Press more firmly for a bolder line. Not feeling so steady? Accomplish any of these effects by first dabbing precise dots along your lashline, and then going back and slowly connecting them. For subtle definition, draw a thin line as close as you can to your lashline, starting at the inner corners and working your way outward. For a wide-eyed look, line the outer third of your eyes only. For classic cat eyes, extend the outer corners into feline flicks. Thicken the line by going over it, just at the outer corners of your eyes, until you get just the kind of wing you want.

I have used this eyeliner since highschool (30 years old now) and so have all of my sisters. It’s the blackest eyeliner I’ve tried, and I’ve tried many! My one complaint is the applicator, I like to do a wing and the applicator is pretty thick so it’s hard to get a precise point, so I tried other eyeliners at Sephora, drugstores, everywhere, and none compared to this one. Instead of switching eyeliners, since I love the formula so much, I switched the applicator with a thinner one and I basically Frankenstein-ed it fit the bottle. Love this eyeliner, and will never cheat on Almay again, buy it.

I've used this product for years and liked it. However, my new bottle has a different applicator. It feels like a hard sponge. It's much more difficult to get an even fine line with this sponge. I wish Almay would bring back the original small paint-brush style applicator. In the meantime I'll be looking elsewhere for eyeliner.

Despite saying it was hypo allergenic, I definitely had a reaction to it. My eyelids began to sting immediately after application so I removed it right away. The package also says it has a flexible tip and shows a photo of a brush tip. However the pen is not flexible and it makes it hard to create a presise thin line.
