i absolutely used to love this stuff before the tubs disappeared from my local grocery stores. So, several years later, (and despite the negative reviews about it being watery) I picked some up when i found it at target. Let me start with the good news. It’s not watery anymore. That said, upon opening, i immediately was hit with a unpleasant bready (???) smell. Sadly, the taste was also slightly off-putting. It don’t exactly think it was terrible but it DEFINITELY was NOT GOOD. Next, I looked at the nutritional info & i was surprised to see that it had a couple grams more carbs than my usual cottage cheese. Finally, I checked the ingredients, and, mystery solved, the second ingredient is now “tapioca starch” !!

What happened to this brand? Use to love it. Awhile back it was so watery I stopped buying. I have yet to find another brand that I like. So I thought lets try again. Nope still watery and now I have a nasty taste in my mouth. I mine as well eat a bowl of milk with some cheese curds in it. Wasted my $$ on two containers. I had high hopes they went back to the drier style.

I want to rate this higher, because it has been good, but I’m on the fence. The one time that I got this and it was drier, it tasted very fresh and good. The other couple times it was extremely watery, and honestly not very many curds at all. It was inedible. I wondered if I had gotten the beginning or end of a batch? I tried it, and the taste was off—not sour—but just off, and I checked the expiration date (and it had not expired), so I’m not sure why a couple of times this was like a milky water with barely any curds. Perhaps the company is inconsistent; perhaps they’ve changed their recipe/formula. I don’t know if I would order this brand again. We love cottage cheese, so we were disappointed . I wish Target had more brands to choose from for cottage cheese.

Very watery! The taste is okay but the texture is terrible. It is so watery I can't put it on toast or eat it with fruit in it. Much more liquid than curds like soup! I bought 2 24 oz. containers and both were the same. I will not buy this again. Disappointing and a waste of money!

Something has changed in the recipe in the past 3 months. My family has been eating this brand exclusively for YEARS. We probably eat 2 tubs a week. Each of my kids and myself have noticed the flavor and consistency to be different and NOT in a good way. I can't even finish my serving now. (If anyone from Breakstone's reads this, we liked the less creamy version with a small curd! Not at the current chemical flavor with large chunks.)
