Carol's Daughter Born to Repair Sulfate-free Nourishing Shampoo -11 fl oz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Today I am reviewing a generous sample I received compliments of Carol’s Daughter - the “Born to Repair” shampoo and conditioner! I love Carol’s Daughter because of the transparency they have with their yummy, sustainably-sourced ingredients. That, and somehow all of their products smell good enough to eat. This particular duo is aimed to help remedy damaged hair - especially for those in need of nourishing their curls. I would not consider my hair to be “curly,” however it does have a distinct wave and loose curl to it when left to air dry. The product claims to reduce the visual presence of hair damage and split ends with just one use. I hopped into the shower and lathered the shampoo into my short, color-treated hair and scalp. There is a distinct scent to this product which I happen to love. It’s a vibrant, tropical, nutrient-rich scent oddly reminiscent of those classic chewable Flintstone vitamins we all remember from our childhood. I was surprised by the amount of suds considering this is a sulfate-free and color safe product. Moving on to the conditioner, the smell was somewhat the same - perhaps a bit muskier than the shampoo. I actually wish I had been given more conditioner, as my hair seemed to soak it up quickly. Overall I found this to be an effective, attractively scented haircare system with thoughtfulness put into a beautifully blended vegan formula. While my hair is too short to evaluate for split ends, I did notice a “healthier” shine, with less kinks and more of a unified shape. With shea butter and babassu oil, this is a great option to try for those in need of some hair repair!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shampoo has a nice light pleasant scent just like the conditioner. It foams up very quickly. It cleaned my scalp and the length of my hair completely and without drying out my hair or tangling it. Which for me personally is something I always look for and have a hard time finding in a shampoo. I could even detangle with this shampoo but it still got my hair squeaky clean. I love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a free sample of this in the mail. I was excited to try it out and liked the packaging on the little packet I received. When I opened it, I noticed it had a gel-like texture. I'm not a huge fan of gel shampoos because they don't work well on my straight hair and remind me of kid shampoos. When I used it, my hair felt a bit funny, so I ended up washing it out with my current shampoo. I've been looking for a new shampoo, but this one didn't make the cut.
