Made a trip from Tennessee to South Florida. Didn't buy any additional straps or the non-slip mat. However, I would definitely recommend getting a mat underneath because the bag did slide back on my roof; I did not have cross bars, only the side bars. This was my first time traveling with a cargo bag and was super nervous, I'm sure I could've gone a bit faster on the highway but the bag was flying up a little in the front. The bag did make it down to South Florida with only 2 inch crack on the top of it and all items remained dry through the rain.

Works exactly as anticipated. It is water proof in intended way. If you strap it and zip it and keep the zipper flap right you should have no issues.

This product didn't last one trip! Not only did it come apart at the seams but it cracked and pulled apart. It became a huge problem when it began to rain and we had no choice but to empty the bag and hold everything on our laps with a already packed vehicle. We had emailed the company and have yet to get a reply.

We had all our Xmas presents in this amazing bag. Carried it on top of my new-used Equinox. Traveled in bad weather (winds gusting 50 mph). Freezing rain! I was worried. The gifts are fine and the bag is not ripped, damaged, nothing! So Happy!
Great job for the price

Used this for a cross-country trip. Worked great. Followed instructions. Had no issues with it staying on the top correctly. Drove through down pour and all clothes and items in the carrier remained dry. Definitely would recommend!

I can’t give this roof top carrier anything less than 5 stars. We drove from McAllen, TX to Disney World in Orlando (19 hours/1300+miles each way), and it held up great. Drove through torrential rains in Louisiana and Florida, everything inside stayed bone dry. I suggest securing it as suggested with zippers to the side/rear and wrapping everything in plastic trash bags just in case, fill it up as much and compact as possible, and tie down loose straps. I used zip ties to secure loose straps. Make sure nothing is flapping violently, that’s what causes rips.

Just bought two for a move across country. Went 2000 miles and no leaks (no driving in the rain but overnight rain), no problems with the straps, and folded these back up and put in the carry bag in case they are ever needed again. Worst part was washing the bugs off the bags.
Gets the job done

We ordered this and picked this up on the road while road tripping. Easiest process ever! While it has managed to get small holes in it from where we have pushed against the bag, it has still kept all of our stuff dry. I'm impressed by the bag. (Be sure to close the zipper all the way or the stuff near it will get damp. Lesson learned.)
Great last minute solution!

Overall this carrier worked great. We were in a bind after having a baby shower 12 hours from home and didn’t have room to fit everything so we had to look into cargo carriers. We narrowed down to this one pretty quickly due to the fact that we were unable to get crossbars that fit our vehicle on that short of notice and the pricepoint was great. It ended up being larger than I anticipated and we were able to fit 2 large totes along with many other items. I was nervous that it would fly off the vehicle when driving since we did not have crossbars for extra security but we did use two ratchet straps to help keep it down. I recommend using ratchet straps or something additional to secure as one of the straps provided did break shortly after starting our drive. Other than that the bag held up perfectly with no ripping or tears and worked perfect as a last minute fix!

This was the best purchase I made for the money!! Our trip was about 3 hours one way and the day of the road trip it was really windy, it held up great!! We drove back after our trip and the cargo top bag is still like new. It is also very spacious and had more room to fill. I wish I had pics to show but didn’t think to take pics.

I was afraid to buy this after reading the reviews, but an emergency situation came up and I'm glad I did.
It is rain proof, and it's very sturdy. The people that had problems probably didn't read the instructions. Oh, and the price was great too.

It’s was pointless. Drove 8 hours and 4 of them were in the rain. All of my luggage was wet and we had to buy new everything.
Didn’t make it for the complete trip.

We purchased to hold a few suitcases to free up room in our minivan. We had to take it off half way through our trip because there were worn areas that you could poke your fingers through. Waste of money!! Would not recommend.

The bag itself had holes in it after just one trip. We drove from Indiana to Florida and back and was disappointed to find holes in the bag when we got home. If I had the original box I'd return it. Don't waste your money unless a one time use is all you need.

Used this on a huge move from New Hampshire to Orlando, FL. We just made sure to tighten the bag on every stop and it was totally fine. Everything inside was bone dry and we went through some steady rain. Fit so much stuff, leaving plenty of room in the car for little things. For $30 it did so much better than I was expecting.
