Poor Lid Design

The coffee maker works okay, I just have a difficult time with the lid to the glass carafe. It doesn't seem to go on and off very well, and I suspect it will break sooner than later.

Good coffee, easy to use. The plastic cafe top is a problem. It does not stay on tight. Scratches easily.

Bad clock

Though it brews a good cup of coffee, the clock doesn't work well. It adds 20-25 minutes each day which is a problem when programming auto-brew. It has been a problem on 2 separate coffeemakers we ordered

My favorite coffee maker ever and this is my 2nd purchase. The first one lasted many years. This ones works great although the lid fit is a bit snug and hard to get off. My old one was easier but no big deal, I still recommend this model highly!

Cuisinart 14 cup coffeemaker

I purchased my first Cuisinart 14 cup Coffeemaker a number of years ago. I chose this model as I saw the daily abuse it could take at a business location. I reasoned that for home use it could only give better results. I am now on my third fourteen cup unit, as all the features fit my needs and it has proven itself over time.

Good not Great

The coffee making ability is good - It makes a good cup of coffee, strong, tastes wonderful even without the water filter in it. We had the pour over style of this coffee maker prior to this one, and the pour over style maker busted about 2 months after having it due to coffee grinds spilling over the coffee grind holder and back into the water reservoir, where it was sucked back into the coffee maker eventually clogging the coffee maker. I didn't look too closely at this 14 cup programmable coffee maker before I bought it and it has a similar pour style of where the water comes out on top over coffee grinds... but the coffee grinds could easily float up and spill over into the water reservoir and then be sucked into coffee maker during a brew. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that doesn't happen - so far so good but I do see coffee grind particles stuck to the holes of where the water comes out during brewing which means the grinds are definitely rising up during the brew and could spill over. In addition, the clock feature is wonky - it's like it only counts 58 or 59 minutes for every hour so it's constantly moving up in time. I think I reset the time about 2 weeks ago and now the clock reads 30 mins faster than the real time - annoying. Also the burner temperature is a little too hot for our tastes even when I set it to the lowest temp the coffee is still scorching and I need to let it sit 5 mins+ in a mug before I can drink it. I definitely won't be buying this coffee pot again. Sorry but just my opinion.

Makes good coffee. Lid a bit fussy to remove and a little hard to pour water into the unit. My biggest complaint is that it broke after 11months. Cuisinart did supply a free replacement quickly.

Almost PERFECT

4 out of 5 stars
Martior - 7 days ago
originally posted on cuisinart.com
I have finally found the closest to the PERFECT coffeemaker. It keeps my coffee warm, I can make 1-4 cups, but as much as 14m, the display is bright, etc. However, there are two minor flaws, the lid has to be removed completely and clicked back on, and when pouring the water into the well, the lip of the pot impedes complete drainage. So either, leave the 5-10 mL of water in the pot or bring back to sink to empty.

I am very happy with my coffee maker. This is my third Cuisinart coffee maker, and it's great. It doesn't leak, the coffee stays hot, and is easily programmed. Also, it is very attractive with clean lines, and looks nice on the counter.

It's as if someone asked what could be improved from the previous model and actually listened. It's easier to fill, easier to clean and the clock is easy to see and set. I also like the added bold setting and how the buttons are arranged in a row. The coffee it makes is excellent too.

Very happy, this was a replacement under warranty since the hot plate rusted. My only complaint is that hot plate is thin and flimsy, other than that it makes great drip coffee. Need to stay on top of wiping off the hot plate so it won't rust, minor flaw really.
